450N popping up all over down by me also. Two of the craft beer bars in town have them, Binny's had 4 packs at $29.99 each. I bought a $30 Mikerphone bomber instead. Well, "instead" implies there was a chance of me buying 450N to begin with. Still...shame.
I cannot believe the prices on these 450 4 packs. Even if a mixed pack, there is no way I am dropping $30 on 4 slushy beers
Have you had any of the fruited stuff from Untitled Art? When I want a fruit fix, I get those. I feel like the 450 ones can’t be THAT much better to justify 29.99 vs 17.99 (at Binny’s).
Saw 4 different Civil Society hazies hit The Open Bottle including Fresh which I think is their flagship. I had that one before and it was good. I picked up $eeing Green and Kickball Champ. Will have them during the tournament games and report back.
Both were solid but I’m good with just single cans. They were less sweet than local haze which is a point in their favor. But 9% is a little higher than I like in a double ipa.
the fruited drekker stuff is pretty fantastic too. i enjoy heavily fruited beers here and there but everything ive had from those guys has been solid. i think it varies but ive seen most of the fruited releases in 4pk 16oz cans. i have a couple of the georgia peach untitled arts in my fridge right now.
I've been seeing Eagle Park at Bottles & Cans lately. I tried single cans of two New England-style IPA's. Tony Had Hair In The 90's was pretty forgettable overall; drinkable but not one I'd ever buy again. Demon Haze, however, was fantastic; guava, green tea, orange citrus & some grass-y notes. One of the better "hazy" IPA's I've had in awhile. The Gorillaz homage / IP theft artwork was an added bonus. Just one idiot's opinion.
I saw 4 barrel aged bottles from Orpheus Brewing out of Atlanta at Beer On The Wall in Park Ridge. I'd never heard of 'em, but the descriptions sold me so I picked up all 4. I had a double barrel aged barleywine (On Becoming Remnants - Barleywine aged in Jim Beam Masterpiece and Speyside Scotch barrels) last night that was borderline breathtaking. Glad I took the plunge, recommended if you see these around town!
Saw an ipa from Barclay out at BOTW. Apparently these out of state drops are from the More Brewing Fest. Love that, similar to what happens around FOBAB and Mikerphone's fest
The Beer Temple, and likely a few other places, received a big drop from Beachwood today (Amalgamator, LBC, Sole Magic, Citraholic and Hayabusa). Also picked up Fair State Festbier, was out of town when the Side Pull dropped (it's sold out there). They have a few of a Fair State NEIPA 4 pack as well, but didn't pick it up. Saw Fresh Pivo Pils (8/11 canning IIRC) there as well, need to make a second trip today or tomorrow.
Amalgamator followed by a LBC. All is good as far as I'm concerned. Thank you Beachwood for continuing to grace us with a yearly drop of Amalgamator and others. A biannual drop could possibly work too, no?
I lived in Los Angeles for seven years before migrating to the Midwest, so I always enjoy seeing a Beachwood drop; Amalgamator is a classic, and don't sleep on their spontaneously fermented Blendery releases that also showed up at The Beer Temple. In other flash drops, I also picked up a couple cans of As Above So Below, from Mortalis. Really nice coffee stout, on the thick and sweeter side with some chocolate and plum notes, but doesn't come across as trying to be really over the top, and it's not packed with a bunch of pastry additives.
We have a new Casey drop (according to Beer Temple’s photo). Anyone know which specific ones came to market?
