The only Czech Dark Lager I got to try this year was Mikerphone's Flipped the Switch (which is an "Imperial" CDL). I thought it was pretty good, and it went down waaaay too easy for a beer that is 8%.

Of course, I missed the part about "Friday."

Stopped in today, because I was in the area, and a day early again.

Guy in the beer section mentioned a commemorative glass, too. For those of you interested. I don't really need another beer glass, myself.

For what it is worth, the beer and the glass were on the shelf at Binny's today. I think it was $10.99/4pack. I honestly have no clue where I was though as a I had a disaster at work and needed to blow off steam at 10am...Plainfield or Aurora or something else around there...lol.

So... some Binny's are more equal than others, eh?

Do you remember what sort of glass it was/is?

Sorry about the disaster, must'a been bad to drive you to the liquor store!

I googled it; I must have been at Montgomery Binnys. The glass was the same as posted above, it had a little too much going on for me. I spend alot of time at Pollyanna so I am sure I will be drinking enough of this anyway.

Real estate closings are interesting to say the least right now.

Elmhurst Brewing currently has a Helles, a Schwarzbier & a Czech Pils on tap. The Helles and Schwarz seem to be regulars, the Pils (Glass Slipper) is 52 IBU per the brewer - but when I had it it didn't seem that high.

Half Acre has a new series, 4 beers in their "Continental Series".

The first is a "Spring Bock", which I assume is the same / similar to a Maibock?

    Regardless, I'm amped.

I wonder if its a new beer or just a rebranded Creek to Rise: https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/50265/540928/

The BA description calls Creek a Traditional Bock, and the notes sort of bely that, don't you think?

Of course, I guess we haven't seen a description of the Spring Bock. I've been attuned to Maibock in spring, but there were a lot of US regionals brewing traditionals for spring many years ago.

HA called Creek to Rise a "spring bock" hence why I was speculating at the possibility of it being the same beer.

Just saw it referred to as "ruby" in color at their Twitter page, does that compare to the Creek from previous brews?
