I suppose Black Tuesday is best I've tried but Parabola at the price is tough to beat for me

I love BCBS and Uncle Jacob's. Parabola is still the best by quite a large margin, in my opinion.

Clown Shoes Porcine Unidragon came out of left field for me. Loved it. Is it better than the others, maybe not, but it's damn good for $13.

Bell's Bourbon Barrel Cherry is my absolute favorite but it is not for everyone.

Bell's Barrel Aged Expedition destroys Black Note and embarrasses any of the other -bal stouts in Michigan. I would take it over Parabola, BCBS and pretty much every other top tier -bal stout as well.

Thanks. Should have figured. I've always wonderd if most of these breweries using Heaven Hill barrels even know what specific brand of Bourbon was in the barrels.

Can't say that I've had them all, but Dark Horse BB Plead the 5th is my favorite so far...wish I had an endless supply

I would certainly recommend trying the Barrel-Aged Blackout Stout by Great Lakes, on the top of my bourbon barrel aged stouts list....Cheers!!!

Maybe I am alone here but I've had more complex Imperial Stouts (non-BA) than I have had of the barrel aged variety. Sometimes I think either the barrel itself or maybe it's previous contents over power too many of the subtle flavors in the beer. I've started collecting these in my cellar in hopes that they'll mellow out and some of the more interesting characters might shine through.

That said The Abyss, Parabola, and BA Old Rasputin are great BA Stouts.

Agreed that both are great, but Black Albert is not barrel-aged...Cuvee Delphine (and others) is the barrel-aged version of Black Albert.
