I know lots of us Chicagolanders spend time in Michigan. If you’re passing through the New Buffalo area this weekend, I highly recommend stopping at Seedz. They make fantastic lager, and debut a new 10° Czech Pale Lager this Saturday. It features the new Sugar Creek malt that’s been used by Goldfinger, Dovetail, and a few others recently.

The seedz hype is strong in the burbs, hoping to verify soon!

The hype is well deserved for Seedz. They make outstanding lager that's on par with with the great lager producers of Chicago imho. I'll most likely be up there tomorrow for the release. Lucky to only have them 20 minutes away!

Was at Seedz last weekend for the first time... It lives the lager & saison hype.

They have some awesome collabs coming later this year. Mikerphone, Is/Was, Afterthought….
The Southwest Michigan, or greater New Buffalo area, is kind of stacked. Haymarket, Transient, Seedz, and several other okay breweries within 10 miles of each other. Lots of great beer in a less than crowded region.

That's cool news about the collaborations!

You aren't kidding about SW MI being stacked. A buddy and I started a little two day trip in MIchigan; Kalamazoo was the starting point and we worked back to Illinois. Bells and Wax Wings, and One Well were first places we hit(Wax wings makes really great lager as well). Day two we went old school and visited The Livery which is also a really great space with excellent craft brews. We also had pizza at Haymarket and it was amazing to be able to park so easily compared to the Chicago Haymarket location where parking is a royal B****. Haymarket had a malort barrel aged lager on draft that they gave us both free pours of... Was a fun two days of brewery hopping. The highlight of the small two day trip for me was definitely Seedz.

Didn't search the thread, but has anyone seen or tried Off Color's Beer for Hell?

A Maibock just announced by Binny's email.

Loves me a good Heller Bock.

It was decent last year. (I tend to like, not love their lager program.)

Not sure if this belongs here, but I’d say the Binny’s collab with Pollyanna and goldfinger - zwickelbier and kellerbier - is a must grab.

Right place all right, but my first Binny's had sold out and haven't had a chance to check any others.

Just tried Begyle's Foeder Doppelbock, which is just what it's called...a doppelbock aged in an oak foeder. Oak, caramel & hints of walnut here; I enjoyed it a lot.

It seems I enjoy their dark lagers more than most of their other offerings; the only Begyle beer I have rated higher than this one is Comb The Desert, their schwarzbier.

Having my last RT Luxuriator as an after workout, Friday treat this afternoon.

While not my ideal Doppelbock with some of its sweeter and roastier characters, it's still a darn good version and garners big points for being local and (somewhat) fresh.

Saw a local that still had some on the shelf, may need to take a trip.

Did they brew it again? Or is this all still from the original batch?

    Guessing you're asking me.

Original batch of Luxuriator -- canned early last September. Holding up very well.

I’m really enjoying Old Irving’s Goat Destroyer Maibock. Would probably like it more if it didn’t reference the absolute worst baseball team in MLB, but whatevs. #southside4life

I once had to pass on a burger plate at a sports bar due to the same reference.
