My dad is over for Easter dinner. He brought beer! For the record, he also brought a 4 pack of Second Fiddle (which he is drinking...). Cheers!

Ouch! The new bike can take gravel tires, so I might do some light off road, but I'm mostly a road rider. I bet that still hurts.

    @Ocalafox Thanks!

...bone poking out of my arm...8 1/2 hours for the first surgery (the hardware install)...another 2 hour surgery to install a larger screw in my lower arm (apparently I was working out the original screw with my rehab exercises)...but, I was told I could never do push-ups again (I can but generally don't now)...the bike I fell off of is the one I still ride to this day - it's my exercise and touring bicycle (I sold my road bike about 15 years ago)...anyway, I prefer bicycle paths as much as possible...did ride from Colorado Springs to Columbus, Ohio back in 2005 and have done a few shorter tours, but now mostly day rides...still want to tour more and I see no reason not to...that old Trek hybrid kind of does it all for me...perhaps, one day, I'll buy an actual touring bicycle...

...anyway, keep riding...it's certainly beats going to a gym (in my opinion)...

    Happy Easter Advocates!
Between endless lunches and dinners, I added this brick that many of you will know much better than me:

Epic Brewing Company (Denver, Colorado, USA) - SON OF A BAPTIST -Imperial Coffee Sout (8%)

Imperial Stout with local coffee "in rotation", but not indicated in a can and cocoa beans. Not aged in cask (and you notice the absence of wood or hints of additional alcohol, I appreciate.)
Obviously, I was pissed that the coffee and roaster that supplied it is not indicated, as this was supposed to be a distinguishing feature of the beer .... I then had a big laugh when I read that the " ground coffee "was used in the extraordinary quantity of 1% (as indicated in the can) !!!
I imagine how much the quality of the artisan coffee used will have affected the taste...

    1%

    Dark beer, intense black.
    Abundant, beige and soft foam.
Medium dense body in the mouth.
Triumph of taste of espresso coffee, not only for the toasted notes, but precisely for the roasting taste (between tobacco and bitter chocolate).
Notes of licorice when the beer is still fresh, left to dilute the dark chocolate emerges, which well intersects with the predominant taste of long espresso coffee.
Pleasant, very tasty, medium-bodied, the 8% are well hidden, despite being a fairly complex beer in its simplicity
    Very pleasant.

Snow shower over - a little aggressive on the pour, but another Stone IPA while my small Easter ham cooks in the oven. Spiral sliced Carando Brown Sugar and Spice. Some fresh roasted asparagus to go with it.

Having another Skulls and Femurs American pils by Odd Muse because it's to damn tasty to not have another. I can't express how tasty this 1 is. Fresh, bright, crisp, hoppy bitterness, very floral and has a mouth feel of a higher abv beer. I pick up green apple, caramel, honey sweetness and has a long white bread crust/cracker finish that you can smell on your lips. Crushable. Its nectar of the gods in my books. Cheers y'all!

    ...time for a memorial barbecue...

...this is the album where I first heard about Eric D and, consequently, got more and more into him once I started listening to his music (solo and as a sideman - primarily with Charles Mingus)...
