I second the Cambridge Brewing recommendation. From your hotel take the Red Line from south station to Kendall. Lamplighter brewing is in the same neighborhood.

Row 34 is near your hotel and has a great tap list and excellent seafood.

I offered to meet up for beers with some Boston folks, but figure it'd be easier to say it here - I am no longer going. I have not been able to recover from my injury, and have not been able to run smooth or steady since January.

Good luck to those going. I'll miss my opportunity to visit Row 34 again for oysters and beer.

I don't see the issue here. You should still go.

Now you don't have to do that pesky running part.

Bummer. I’m still injured but can run enough not to pull the pin. Now just need to avoid COVID for the next 3 weeks…

Boston Marathon done. Big sesh at Trillium Fort Point afterwards. Got to Treehouse at about 1pm today (Tues) and didn’t have to deal with any substantial lines. Ubers are scarce but got one to/from brewery within 15 mins and only $11 to Sturbridge hotel. I love it when a plan comes together. Off to Waterbury tomorrow.

Thanks again for all the tips.

    Happy it went well!

I saw Notch Brewing was doing a Marathon watch party. Sounded like a lot of fun.

My training group was out in the Fort Point area as well. I haven't gotten a full recount of how their night went, but that Seaport / Fort Point area is a lot of fun.

While I didn't run a marathon, I did walk 18 miles over the course of the day doing brewery hopping.

Walked in from Somerville to Fenway to hit Trillium at Time Out Market. Got there around noonish (to avoid the pregame crowd). Then walked through Fenway which was buzzing. As was the city, saw many runners.

Then walked to Trillium Beer Garden since it was the first weekend. We were the only one's there for awhile. The temps dropped as the sun went in, it was frigid.

Finally walked over to Notch's event and got there around maybe 5. Was a nice capper to the day. Damn that Helles Spezial and Biersal are tasting amazing right now.

Congrats on the race! Hope you had a good day, wasn’t what I was going for but had fun out there. Enjoy Vermont. It’s the best.

Dude, what kind of shoes do you have? My feet would be throbbing if I walked that much.

It also wasn’t what I was going for but a finish and my 5th of the 6 majors was well worth the trip. Just London to knock off and then I can finally retire to the trails. Awesome event and community support

Just Altra Paradigms (I have a **mid-foot strike and wide feet, so these are great for me plus they provide lots of cushion).

    **when running

    I run maybe 10-15 miles/week these days. But I walk a TON.

Walked/ran (mostly walked though) quite a bit starting Friday last week.

    Friday 12.3 miles
    Saturday 17.2 miles
    Sunday 11.9 miles
    Monday 17.9 miles
    Tuesday 9.7 miles
    Wednesday 12.2 miles

I hear London has some great beer.

What's been your favorite? My wife is a three-hour (okay, 3:06 and 3:12) marathoner and has done Chicago and Boston. She is mildly entertaining one more before 40 in a few years. I'm pushing for London, but would go literally anywhere.

Beer Mile London is a marathon in and of itself.

wow very impressive mileage. I lived in NYC for a long time and used to walk everywhere no where near those totals though.

I just ran my first half marathon this past Saturday up in Albany (got free Fort Orange Brewing beers at finish). This thread inspired me to come up with Boston Beer Marathon:

You start appropriately with a beer at Startline Brewing in Hopkinton (where I live)

Run 8.5miles to Jacks Abby (passing over the real Startline for marathon)

After a tasty lager run 7.5 miles to Local Kitchen & Drinks in Wellesley (no close breweries but good tap list here probably get an appetizer for fuel)

Next run 8.5 miles to Brato Brewing

Finish up with short 2.6 mile fun run to Trillium Fenway.

Stays pretty close to actual marathon route but you do 27 miles instead of 26.2. I’m going to train and try and go for this at some point.

It’s so hard to select a favourite but Boston for me is probably right up there due to the effort involved in getting there. I got my first BQ in Tokyo in 2018 but missed the cut. Got another in 2019 but 2020 was cancelled and I couldn’t get to ‘21 so had to qualify again for ‘22. NY (ran twice) is fkn huge, Tokyo has lots of out and backs so you get to see the elites, Berlin is timed for Oktoberfest, Chicago has gospel singers on church steps and the wafting scent of brunch soul food. London was where I lived and trained for my first Mara in NY way back in 2002 so will be awesome to finish it off there.
