I went to my first Phillies game a week+ ago. A big can (19.2 oz) of Yards Philly Pale was $13+. I recognize we are all now living in the world of BIG inflation but gee whiz that is a lot of money.

Non-cheers to high beer prices at ballparks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I lived in Vegas for 16 years and tried out countless places to eat. Haven't tried his fancy place out but did go to Ramsay's burger joint there. My friend and I agreed that the food was ok at best, and wayyyyy overpriced. Luckily for us it was comped via one of my friend's connections, otherwise I would have felt cheated.

Well, I could be accused of "forgetting" but I do not know this guy.

A quick web search indicates he is a 'gear head' dude?

    Cheers!

Top Gear was THE show. His humor was great. He's been in trouble for racist and homopbobic remarks but top gear is still unmatched

Their serving size is 20 oz, though.

Also for $11 for 20 oz is Fuller ESB and Deschutes Mirror Pond.

Just to price check, Joe's Seafood Las Vegas (i.e. Joe's Crab Shack) sells Coors Light et. al. for $6 for a bottle, presumably 12 oz, which works out to $10 for 20 oz. Their draft beer is $9, serving size unspecified.

    Consider your location.

He used to be one of the figureheads of Top Gear, until he got kicked for punching a producer in the face after not getting the steak dinner he wanted. They even made an American version of this, it's an immensely successful, tongue-in-cheek, British TV show about cars and stuff.

Celebrities are indeed a fickle lot.

Kris Jenner is in 'hot water' now for yelling at her driver. I suppose the good thing is she didn't punch the driver?

    Cheers!

But at least he's amusing. Have you seen his new show, Clarkson Farms? I stream it from Prime Video. First season was funny. Waiting on second season upcoming.

    Thanks for the tip!

I did a quick web search and it appears that one of his crops is barley. Do you happen to know if it is brewing barley (as opposed to feed barley)?

    Cheers!

This is funny because a coworker of mine just got back from Vegas with his family. He said the worst part “food and drink prices”…

This seems to be more a Vegas and location issue, as others have stated above as well.

Gordon Ramsay’s popularity reminds me a bit of a line from a Howard Stern movie...

Researcher : Answer most commonly given? "I want to see what he'll say next."
Pig Vomit : Okay, fine. But what about the people who hate Stern?
Researcher : Good point. The average Stern hater listens for two and a half hours a day.
Pig Vomit : But... if they hate him, why do they listen?
Researcher : Most common answer? "I want to see what he'll say next."

Whether you like or hate Ramsay, he builds his brand off his drama. And he’s very successful.

Gordon Ramsay has useful cooking advice. His restaurant food might be OK? . . . or not. Guy Fieri does what? Finds obscure restaurants that, more often than not, offer piles of gloppy food served with a sauce made in five gallon batches.

I really liked Top Gear, despite not being all that interested in cars generally, and it was the unique chemistry of Clarkson, Hammond and May that made it work. Clarkson can be amusing, but he can also be a bit of a twat. Haven't seen Clarkson Farms, but apparently he hosts Who Wants To Be A Millionaire in the UK as well now. Quite an odd choice for that show, given his controversial character.

I don't know, and I don't recall any discussion at the time that he planted or harvested it. He is so far out of his element in this show that I doubt that he even knows anything about malting barley.

One bit of cross-over from his Top Gear role, he bought a Lamborghini tractor for working his farm. I was shocked to learn that Lamborghini even manufactured such a vehicle.
