I drank 6 cans of Thundertaker; 4 when it was really fresh and the other two gave it a little time to see what it would do. It's changed for sure from the cans I drank. Again for "my tastes" I don't like how it has gotten significantly sweeter over time. It was much better fresh because the balance of the rye was a bit stronger than the sweetness. I love rye beers from Revolution that why I said that...

Glad you are still enjoying your Thundertaker cans. By chance did you have all your Thundertaker cans stored at fridge since the time you purchased your cans?

    Curious to know for science.

For anyone who missed out on it the first time, Rev announced that among the draft beers for the Deep Woods Library event there will be Destroyed by the Empire! Also Ten Year Beer, 2018 V.S.O. Lynott’s, and Very Old Deth by Currants and four more they didn’t list in the email blast.

I can see how the rye character may be more subdued now, which I guess could account for our different perceptions. No fridge for me, I keep my cans in the cold room in my basement - never gets above 60 even in the hottest part of summer which I've always felt is sufficient. I'll even drink a straight jacket straight out occasionally!

That looks beautiful and I love beets. Stouts are already earthy, and so are beets. It's certainly half as "weird" as oyster stouts, which I also love. A recent one by Noble Beast and Bookhouse called Shucks!, which included some smoke, was quite nice.

Actually I'm surprised this hasn't been done before considering how many other beet beers I've had. I'm sure some whacky place has done a beet stout, but not one that I'm aware of.

Cracked open a Dark Mode to ease the pain of the end of the Bulls' season. And probably for the beginning of the Sox season as well. Drinking very well imo. One of my favorites from this past DW series. I do hope Rev bring this one back again.

Congrats to the Bucks, even with having Grayson Allen on the team (C'mon, after all he's... Well, here is a still from his college commitment video.)

 More  Supermassive  Pleaseee!!!
It feels like Supermassive is the only beer that manages to have the coffee character still present after about 6 months to a year. Plus, beyond the first month or so, it felt like the balance of coffee, stout and barrel was superb.

I really enjoy supermassive (The first match, anyway - less the second). I really want them to work hard to bring that barrel in again, though. I love the coffee presence, but for the price I really want it to have that great barrel character AND coffee. Also, a little less of that old-coffee taste that I got more from the latest batch.

Coffee stouts are always thinner than the base version. I actually enjoy drinking it more in summer than the base for that reason. -So, a summer release is welcomed.

They should release Double Barrel Supermassive - supermassive using barrel aged coffee.

Brickstone did a imperial stout with barrel aged coffee some years back. It was pretty good but the flavors were subtle. I’m not sure if the flavors of BA beans would be big enough to stand up to the boldness of a BA stout

Rev Rewards Members just received an email regarding the inaugural Freedom Fest, showcasing the Freedom Sours lineup. Tucked away in there was this little nugget:

Explain yourself @BeerCruncher. What have you unleashed!?

Honestly, that’s the only part of it that piqued my interest. I know, downvote me now.
