Where would be my best shot for Orval Day participation in that area? Or a brunchy place that serves Orval? Just realized that is the same weekend we are up there.

Bottleworks (21+), Slowboat Tavern (21+), Uber Tavern (21+), Brouwers (21+) and maybe Masonry (all ages!).

You'll also be here for the final weekend of Seattle Beer Week. Not many events announced yet, but normally Fremont Brewing does a final day BBQ at the Urban Beer Garden which is always really fun.

Chucks will likely do Orval Day, too. The original Greenwood location on 85th isn't very far from where you'll be staying. Family friendly.

@distantmantra how about Old Stove in the Market? Worth hitting while we are there already? BBA Smoked Dopplebock sounds fun.

Old Stove is worth a visit, especially their space overlooking the waterfront at the Pike Place Market.

Pike Brewing will have Orval, they’re affiliated with Marchant du Vin which is the American distributor of Orval.

That's the plan. We are going to spend quite awhile at the Pike Place Market, so planning to eat at Old Stove at some point during that time.

If you can’t get out to drink Orval anywhere it just sits at my local Metromarket (make sure to get a cookie and machine house bottles).

I think Orval is typically pretty easy to find around PDX and the Seattle areas, but a number of places will do something special on Orval Day. I usually go to Beermongers for Orval Day here in PDX, where in the past they've typically had 4 or 5 different vintages of Orval, as well as several interesting and unusual domestic Belgian style versions aged with Brett. That's the sort of event that makes me look forward to Orval Day every year.

I think the Masonry farmhouse fest overlaps with Orval day (will be at that) so was just planning on enjoying after the fact.

At the least you get to keep the Orval goblet they serve you in. I've got a couple... and broke a couple... I've got a bottle in the fridge... so much more cooler stuff to do/see/drink in Seattle, may just have to wait another year...

Had a fun 4 day tip to seattle.

Hit Gasworks park twice with my dog and hit Fremont both times. The Rye IPA they have on right now is very very tasty. That whole neighborhood is fun and scenic.

Bangrak Thai restaurant has great Thai street food and was a lot of fun. one of the few late night food spots i could track down. For a city that size, Seattle has a serious gap in good late night options.

Dahlia bakery downtown has phenomenal breakfast sandwiches and pastries.

made it to Magnuson dog bark and then magnuson brewing afterwards. beer was solid, not spectacular but my dog loved the park....ITS HUGE

got lucky with the weather all weekend! Seattle is a fun town

Pretty good. Couldn't tell much difference between the BA Imp Pastry Stout and BA Imp Stout. BA Rauchbock was nice, but smoke was a little subdued. BA Mole Brown was okay, not much Mole tho. BA Wheat and Barleywine were fairly close, WW had a spicy note, Rye like. Rauch and WW were the best.

I'd rather go back to Machine House. Old Stove was super busy and hard to get service once seated.

Tell me you’re not from Seattle without saying you’re not from Seattle.

It was fun. We hit Machine House first thing. Amazing beers and got to chat with the brewer some. Rode the Harbor Tour, then went to The Crab Pot for dinner and wondered around the Piers.

Saturday we went to Pike Market and wandered around. I broke off and hit up Pike Brewing, had 4 tasters. We went to Old Stove for lunch, which was fantastic. Then we went to the Aquarium. Momma took the boys with her to the Antique store and I walked forever down to Cloudburst. Honestly, I was disappointed with their offerings. Was hoping for something non-IPA. After that we tried to go to a couple dinner joints my wife wanted to try, but the boys didn't want to eat there, so we went to Giddy Up Burger. Really enjoyed that meal, and beer.

Sunday we went up the Space Needle, and walked around that area for a few. Ate lunch in the Armory. Wandered around MoPOP for awhile. It was like 345 when we got done, everyone was beat, my oldest sat down 1 block from the car and refused to walk any further, so we went back to the hotel. Decided to skip Chihuly and the night ride on the needle. Mom and the boys went to the room and chilled, while I hit up the bar in the parking lot. Had a Ayinger Hefe on tap, then a bottle of Saison Dupont, Rochefort 6, 8, and 10. Family joined me down their for dinner between bottle 8 & 10.

Monday I slept in hard (thanks to the heavy hitting line up with dinner). We went back down to the Pier area for some more shopping before leaving town. Hit Mizuki's Sushi on the way out of town.

Those were all the highs. Now for the lows. Damn A/C didn't work in the hotel room. I had it set to full bore blizzard and it never kicked on. Called the front desk to be put on hold for 20 minutes. Walked down to the desk and they had forgotten about me. They brought us a box fan, and maintenance gave some bs story in the morning. Still broken Saturday night, and Sunday night. We put box fans in the door to draw in the fresh air. Saturday night the boys clogged the toilet, and it took house keeping an hour to bring me a plunger... and no exhaust fan in the bathroom! On the way home my sister (who lives with us) text that she was in the ER. I had to call work (she works with me) to get more information as she wasn't texting back (she's okay now, btw). Then I get a call from my neighbor as we hit Woodburn for gas and food... my dogs broke out of the backyard early that day and were tormenting the neighborhood. Sheriff even showed up and put them back, but they got out again. Had to call my MIL to go find them. Same damn thing happened the weekend before when I was at HotD for Fred Fest.

All-in-all, we all enjoyed it. Next time we go I am definitely hitting Machine House again, and taking a couple growlers. Will probably do Old Stove again too. I'll also plan to do lunch at Giddy Up Burgers and then walk the block to do Fremont and Reubens.

Just a suggestion Justin, and of course I'm not the least bit biased, but instead of doggies get some cats.
