Found seasonal Bocks from Off Color, Half Acre, and More. Sampling to begin soon.

Had a More Brewing Bartlett Maibock this afternoon -- gonna need more 4-packs. Only the first can, but it hit the mark for style

The Heller Rauch collab between Riverlands and Roaring Table is excellent.

I was wondering about that beer! On paper it sounded pretty tempting.

Where have you found it? Anywhere but the breweries?

I had it at Riverlands last night. I suspect it’ll hit all the normal spots this week.

Found the Heller Rauch at the local independent today (no go at the local Binny's -- no surprise, I guess, considering how independent RT really is).

First can seemed a little more focused on the smoke only, though not overpowering. But as I sipped through it, the malts made themselves apparent and I got to liking it. I'll focus closer on the second can.

One thing was the complete flatness of this one -- the head didn't even make a good attempt at sticking around.

Dovetail Maibock 2022 is very good. Sorry, I should’ve asked you to sit down for such startling news.

Been waiting for this one. Is it hitting distro this year?

    Save your pennies. :grimacing:

Seriously, I saw it at one spot for $17 a 4-pack. Grabbed another More Bartlett.

That's pretty on par for this beer going back a couple years, nothin new. Not saying it isn't a little hefty. $17 actually might be on the lower end

Believe me, I know. All of their special releases are too rich for my budget, unfortunately.

Also unfortunate is that I'm starting to see some of my favorite breweries starting to raise prices similarly for special releases.

Yeah I had it on draft at The Beer Cellar but saw it on the singles shelf at Open Bottle

Just wanted to report 2 nights ago I accompanied my fish & chips with:
    Pipeworks Premium Pilsner
    P3 Polish-style Pilsner
Art History Bauhaus german style pilsner

Consumed in order listed, all hit the spot, showcasing how great Chicago's lager offerings have become.

Last night's lone lager was a Pacifico in honor of Cinco de Mayo. Imported by a Chicago company, so quasi local, right? lol. Pacifico is the only massively produced beer that excites me... while also being the only likeable beer I prefer out of the bottle (as opposed to glassware)... guess that says something ab the quality, but whatever!

The rest of my fiesta included non-lagers:
HB Only Interested in Citrus nedipa
Cigar City Cider Homemade Key Lime Pie cider
P3 Empowered Flight tart ale w hibiscus & yuzu

    ¡Salud!

and while I'm at it, tonight's beers so far include Pressed Maple, followed by Off Color Dino S'mores...

I digress, apologies, back to lagers, carry on!

Interesting timing -- I tried a More Villa Pilsner yesterday and got to wondering how it compared with some of the other new locals available -- might be time for a side-by.

But there are a lot of Pilsners out there these days!

Nice, what did you think of Villa Pils?

Riverlands Kayak Pils is another local to try. Had a can last fall, with low expectations, and was thoroughly impressed.
