I think I really like RYE!

Founders Red's Rye PA is my favorite.

 

I liked rye ales before rye ales were cool.

I agree with the OP on this one. Love a good Rye beer. Tough to compete with Ruthless Rye as it is among my favorite Rye brews. I concur with following posts about Founders Red's Rye PA... Half Full Rye IPA from Stamford, CT was surprisingly very good. From what I recall, I once was fond of RastafaRye from Blue Point also.

 

OP is on the west coast? I wanted to suggest DuClaw X-1 imperial chocolate rye porter. The rye mixes with the chocolate porter flavors really well. But they are from Maryland and I dont think they distribute too far away, but I could be wrong.

 

GI Mild Winter just did'nt do it for me this year, It is being produced out of New York presumebly out of a ABINBEV facility... If your going to go with GI make sure it is out of Chicago, there the only ones that taste how you would expect from GI...Cheers.

Rye goes Great in beer. I use it alot in homebrew. If you ever have the chance to get some Heretic Gramarye, thatss a damn good rye pale ale

sierra nevada ruthless rye whenever it comes out. I had the privilege of trying it at the brewery a couple years back before it was ever released

 

Rye lovers should petition Founders to bring back black rye, that stuff was absolutely delicious!

 

Cane & Ebel or Rye'd Da Tiger are both awesome

 

Bear republic Hop Rod Rye sets the standard for off the shelf, available year around rye beer.

It's just so damned balanced that it's silly.

Founder's Reds Rye is one of my favorites and most common rye ales in my area. I'm sure that one has been mentioned all throughout this thread, another one that might not be so common is Sweetwater's lowRYEder, not highly rated but i enjoyed that one the few times I've had it. I have also heard good things about Boulevard's Rye on Rye, unfortunately I can't get that where I am at.

 

I too like Sweetwater LowRyder IPA but find that Founders just hits my taste buds better. But Sweetwater is really easy to find here in NC and is a nice backup to my Rye infatuation.

Ruthless Rye is so good that it's actually exciting to drink. "Wha-hey!" I said after my first sip.

 

I know there's some dislike going around here for Sixpoint, but the Righteous rye is a pretty good rye beer.
