That’s the thing right there. I’d stand on line a hundred people deep and do the math in my head as I watched folks roll hand trucks out of there. Yeah, you’ve got overhead. But nothing near what a traditional brewery does when they have to get the beer to the customer. BAs did the hard work by boxing it up and illicitly UPSing to their crews.

Also: am I misremembering or weren’t they cash only at one point early on?

Would be interesting if harpoon ever folder to see the fight that I’m sure Nate would make to buy that spot. That would be another unreal option with a garage across the street and endless space.

I think they should chill for a few years. Deerfield is barely open to the public without a reservation (maybe they just started accepting walk-ins, idk) and the farm hasn't REALLY opened yet. They should take some time and evaluate how everything is going before buying even more of the east coast.

*3 weeks later: Tree House opens mega brew-pub in San Diego*

Very excited by this news, as the new spot will be fifteen minutes from my house.
This area could use some new blood- aside from Navigation in Lowell, there aren't any other breweries consistently knocking it out of the park in the immediate area. Sure, Spyglass and Silvaticus and Amory's Tomb are all doing great things, but none of those are as close.

I want the next phase in the Tree House world domination scheme to be going full David Tepper and buying and razing the house of the guy who complained about the original Brimfield brewery and prompted their first move.

Regardless of this I know one thing is for sure.

When Cisco inevitably fails down the street from my house here in Portsmouth it will get interesting again like when redhook did. But other breweries weren’t ready to scale to this size at the time. Now, they are literally the perfect size, location, outdoor space, approved music venu(full concerts) brewing capacity and site treehouse could want.

They would dominate if they purchased that space, all of southern Maine and NH. Considering what Redhooks size and capacity was previously it would fit exactly what they need. Most breweries in the area couldn't even afford it or scale up. Nor would it make sense.

I feel it’s only a matter of time. Then we would have Treehouse in our best friends town of Tewksbury and one in ours ha! Aside from that it would be a nice Trillium North.

One can wish….but it’s very feasible

Multi-state operations is something Other Half has seemed to get into nicely but on the other hand you have Modern Times. I think that, even though they have been aggressively expanding recently, branching out to another state would be a bigger bridge for TH. I for one would not be mad at it.

They've already done it with the CT farm, but perhaps the fact they're not brewing or selling beer from that location is a sign of the challenges multistate licensing can bring.

I’ve always assumed they don’t want the foot traffic / crowd, which would occur if they started pours or to go beer sales.

One of the banks in my neighborhood has a big electronic headline display. I turned the corner and saw, "Tree House Brewing acquires Tewksbury Country Club." Okay, okay, I get it!

That seems weird af. Bankers…..I mean, again, th + golf is a perfect match for many (not me)

anyways, I decided to stop by charlton for pours and food truck food. Melt is it. Drinking double rainbow at home now, it’s not my jam. I’d prefer all of the core + beers to this

Yeah, thats what I was thinking that while it out of MA, its not the same as going full selling beer and drafts out of state.

Never in a million years could I have imagined Tree House having this wide of a selection available. Absolutely bonkers.

(Pic from their Twitter. I'm a degenerate, but not to this level.)

Yeah I think we all dreamed about 'what if one day we could go in and mix-and-match like 10 different things we want?!' and now its that but, like 60 things. Just absolute bananaland.
