I agree with you 100% the only beers im drinking from Fieldwork these days are their classic styles (lagers, milds etc) Clear IPAs and barrel aged beers.

Shipping costs are my hang up with ordering from Enegren. One case shipped to the south bay is $40 which seems steep compared to Green Cheek. If shipping was closer to $20-$25 I'd order on the regular.

Curious to hear thoughts on El Segundo Broken Skull American Lager? The Stone Cold collab.

I wouldn't call it world class or anything but it's becoming a fridge staple at $11 a 4 pack (16oz). Plus it's readily available at most of my normal spots.

Sent some to @BigIronH and he hated it.

Kidding but maybe he can offer more insight than me cuz idk shit about lagers

That being said, ESB makes a great BA Barleywine and BA Imperial Stout

I really liked it myself. At that price point if I had distribution I would have it around constantly. It’s well done for what it is definitely. Cheers.

$9 a 4pk at my Trader Joes this weekend, picked some up and it's a very good beer at $9 for 4!

Thanks for the heads up! Swung by by Trader Joes yesterday and picked up 4 4packs at $9. Definitely a fridge staple moving forward at that price/quality.

grabbed a sixer of the North Coast Laguna Baja the other day...haven't tried a new North Coast beer in years. I was pleasantly surprised by their attempt at a Mexican-style dark lager. Bought it for my non-craft drinking in-laws and they enjoyed it!

Picked up a sixer of Topa Topa Sespe Pilsner a few days ago that was very enjoyable.

I have a few CU-workers in my shop I bring cans in for them to take home and try. Mostly IPA’s. I think they still prefer the non craft beers. Maybe I need to bring them some hoppy lagers instead? Or am I wasting my time & $$?

Urban Roots 10-12 beers blow me away each time I have them. They've become one of my go-to breweries over the last year

Agreed, any of the 10-12s are instant buys when I see them out which is unfortunately rare for most places. Of the three, 11 takes the cakes as my favorite but 10 is close behind and a summer crusher at 3.9% abv.

They also make a great black lager called Nothing is Certain. It's like 4.3% but has a ton of flavor

As the weather warms up, those 10° and 12° from Urban Roots become my go-to’s.

Hell and All The Smoke are excellent, too. I wish they were year round.

I got love for Nothing is Certain also.

Urban Roots really killing the lager game and keeping it diversified. As an aside, I had Tomorrow’s Verse, their canned saison and it’s wonderful. Don’t sleep on it.

Peter Hoey would have my vote for President of Lagerfornia.

Haven't seen it mentioned here but Smog City's New Normal was excellent. I'd pop that in top tier of California Lagers I've had.

I've been consistently pleased with Smog City's lager game. They're not trying to reinvent the wheel or do something crazy. They just make good lagers... And ales

I've had it a few times on draft and 4 packs and it's certainly a good one!

Smog City had a lager week or something last year and I remember enjoying most. I'd like to see them continue upping the production of lagers, especially those in cans, instead of variant's of IPAs. There's a thirsty market for low ABV crushers in the South Bay.
