As stated, I send Assassin ‘22 and also cover both labels. You send 2021 BBT.

Has BBT dropped to the level of Assassin?

BBT21 is getting close apparently 250ish give or take 25?

BBT 21 is going for 250, Assassin for 200-220. Figure if I cover both labels, we are pretty close. Happy to discuss anything different.

Happy to talk out a small+ if I don’t cover the label, let’s chat!

I’m glad Assassin is holding its value. I’m more so surprised how much BBT has fallen. Wasn’t attempting to question the OPs valuation.

Very crazy to see BBT21 has fallen that much. I wonder why really? Bigger batch really cause that much of a fall? Personally didn't think the quality was any different than years past. Honestly not going to complain though if it means its going to be more obtainable.

I think it's simply a matter of people feeling less inclined to need to try it if they've had past iterations. The pool of people who have never had any BBT and need to try one of them has just gotten smaller and smaller.

I think its just Side Project hype dropping to more reasonable levels is all.

Assassin used to be stratospheric in level back when it was yellow/gold wax and has already settled down.

    Both are fantastic stouts.

Pretty sure it’s just related to larger supply. I’ll admit when it first released, I was a little spooked by the initial draft pour comments; however, I opened a bottle back in April & thought it was outstanding, and not significantly different from 2020. I’ll happily take another bottle at reduced value :grimacing:

It's definitely due to the larger supply I feel. The hype is still there, everything still sells out instantly and people are still willing to basically pay secondary for an overpriced package (i.e buying $180 for Forever Darkness alone vs. $140 package + proxy fee + label, which is possibly more when you add it up).

I think lots of people now have share groups/buddies that are in LC or if someone from the group grabs the new SP bottle to tick these beers. Most people don't need to try BBT21 or any SP stout 3 or 4 times, so people are willing to trade or sell theirs when they'll try it with their friends.

That first draft pour was nothing like the bottles I have opened. Quite the difference.

Those two I feel that need to try every year. Even though I know they’re going to taste the same year after year.

I didn't think so and some of the others with me as well. There could be keg variation too. I had it the first day it was available.

Have to say, I’m impressed by the actual conversation going on here and not having people just slam each others’ opinions. This is how beer convo should be

I think yellow was their best iteration and deserved the ransom required.

Was yellow that much better than the gold wax? 2013 > 2014?
