Since it will be a short line, we can line up on the release date.

2018 appears to have been the last bottling, which is a long time ago.

Pretty nice run for a place that was never more than mediocre at best and pretty shitty at worst. Kinda serves as a model for Malt People in St John. And Byway too...Wildrose..Crown.. And I'm told that place in Whiting is still open. Amazing. I'll stop now.

Gnosis Brewing has officially opened in the old Devil’s Trumpet facility. The beers have decent scores on Untappd.

I had my first beer from Foreign Local, Fruity Krispie Rice Pebble Treat. It was more like drinking Hawaiian Punch than beer. I couldn’t finish it.

Yeah that sounds really good. After all who wants beer flavored beer anymore? I think they/he was spawned from Windmill so it sorta figures. I could be wrong; I frequently am.

Does that mean I won't be able to get anymore Devil's Trumpet at my local Jewels? Son of a bitch motherfuck!

As I understand it, the head brewer did cone from Windmill.
I have a feeling that Devils Trumpet will be lingering on shelves for several years. Freshness (oldness?) is the only question.

I remember having Black Acre Brewing from Indy probably about 10 years ago from a swap. I kind of forgot about them since. According to their website, they can and distribute now. Has anybody seen their cans up north?

I made my first trip to Gnosis last night. I am ready to put them in the upper echelon of northwest Indiana breweries. I realize that is not much of an endorsement. So to be clear, the beer was quite good.

The fruit beers were not overly offensive. Taneach was my personal favorite. Bee is for Beer Vol 1 had some elements that reminded me of Hopslam. The barleywine and maple coffee stout had a nice sense of balance.

They have nothing to-go yet. Manic Meads Ciders were available on tap. The facility is much nicer than when it was occupied by Devil’s Trumpet. No food, but you can bring your own.

I just learned Beergeeks in Highland will close after New Year's Eve. Sad to see them go as Beergeeks is the OG craft beer destination in Northwest Indiana. Sounds like something new will be taking their spot but the name "Beergeeks" will be gone.

That’s sad to hear. The proliferation of breweries in NWI probably didn’t help them.
For what it is worth, I asked 3 Floyd’s where they recommend the out of towners who show up to the taproom unaware the brewpub closed should go and they said they tell people to go to Doc’s Smokehouse in Dyer due to a robust variety of beer.

Doc's would be at the top of my list in the area for beer and food too. Beergeeks regularly had Head Hunter on tap which I've struggled to find fresh in NWI - cans or on tap.

Going to be called B Side, and focus on live music and spinning vinyl. Same owner, just a different focus. I think today is the last day as Beer Geeks.

What else is on your list? I usually just go to Docs or Windmill.

New Oberpfalz and Region Ale House. I haven't tried 313 Taproom but hear good things. Windmill's great too - especially when a food truck is there.
