Wow. Managing freshness has to become a problem at some point, no? Either that or they're truly doing insane volume across all of their locations

This is when I could travel back in time without adverse consequences. Showing someone this who's standing in the back of the 400 person line for one of the big drops at Monson.... who also knows that they'll most likely run out of beer before they get to put in their order.

The stouts and lagers last about 3 months I think, which does not bother me at all. But I feel like their IPA turnover is ridiculously good.

yeah, it seems like their batches of core + beers are typically gone within a week and a fresh batch is ready to go. It also seems like theyve only placed more limits on some of the hoppy stuff over the past few years.

People may not agree, but generally when I see new (and plenty of old) breweries try NEIPAs, they struggle to do what TH continually does. As saturated as the market is, most of them are subpar to TH, in my opinion. As someone who knows little about brewing, it surprises me how many breweries (imo) are putting out subpar neipas.

There's a bell curve for everything in life. Some places don't put in the effort because they're making money doing what they do. Others don't have the money/resources to purchase the absolute best equipment and ingredients. Most probably don't see it and are just biased by their own product and feel it's the best there is

It really is amazing. Tree House has clearly cracked the code. You'd think everybody and their grandma would be scrambling to clone TH brews because that is obviously the ticket to fame and fortune.

As somebody who also knows little about brewing, it makes me think that perhaps the code is a bit more difficult to crack. That is, until all the armchair experts come swooping in to tell me about how Tree House isn't doing anything special. I really don't know what to think anymore, but I'm starting to suspect that Nate is a world class brewer and that other brewers are simply unable to do what he does, despite their best efforts.

Your other points are valid, but you gotta remember Tree House's humble beginnings.

I'd wager it's the latter. They're doing insanely well sales-wise

This page has been far too positive and happy.

Quick, someone get a bad can of Julius.

Sigh...I'll be that person. Wife sent back the Double IPAs for Days mix that she picked up at the Deerfield location, along with 4-pack Very GGGreennn and 2 Emperor Julius. They were bought and mailed out on a Tuesday and got to me on Thursday (USPS delivers again!) and refrigerated immediately. I've found many of the beers to have overly strong melon flavors (the two already mentioned as well as Juice Machine). I may be more sensitive to this flavor than other people, who knows? I find Equilibrium beers to have this same off-putting flavor. All the Tree House beers were tried in blind tastings alongside other hazy DIPAs and the melon stood out. If this has been addressed in this thread earlier I apologize; admittedly I only checked out this last page but anyone else get overwhelming melon from these beers? I wanted to love them but couldn't get past that flavor.

It's probably too much of a hassle, but I really miss not being able to get single cans. I want to try a lot of their new stuff but just can't afford to buy so many 4 packs.

Hard agree. I liked getting usually like two cans of 10-12 different things and calling it a day.

I DO think they do a great job with different mixed packs all the time, and packaging some stuff as two-packs now, so I can't really give them any shit because as you said it's way too logistically onerous to offer random amounts of cans of everything now with how much they have available.

Completely agree, while it would be awesome to have singles available, I can’t even begin to imagine how much slower packaging would go. Imagine ten people in a row ordering 3+ cases of mixed singles.

I don't get why this is an issue. They have seemingly unlimited money to expand but still have lines at the bars and waits for cans. Can't they just hire more people to meet the demand and provide a smoother ordering experience? Feels like a drop in the bucket.

Biggest issue for me is still the lines to get pours. With two massive 42 tap bars at Charlton, I would expect there to be no more than a 20 min wait when it's busy, and yet it still gets to an hour on weekends.

IMO splitting the bars into two (one being classic style) is a good idea in theory, but I think it's a mis-step given the demand by the majority of the clients.
