Sitting here, French pressing some banana and peanut butter into DL 2020. The banana is frigging outstanding in DL. No lie. :grimacing:

Looks like the bottled version of Dismembers Only dropped at FFF today.

I've seen more growlers available for sale at the kiosk. What turns me off from buying any is FFF won't refill or exchange growlers and I don't need more growlers I can't use. I would say they should can those one-offs with a crowler system, but they doubled down on quart-size glass howlers (or "Boston Rounds").

Agree on it being silly they don’t fill returned glass or just move to crowlers, but at least they don’t charge you for the howler.

If you liked cocomungo and crushing mass the fun continues with solid price per quality…not really sure what I’m tasting outside of sweet stout, barrel tannins and at one point banana potassium tongue licking after taste and the last few sips cherry. This batch 2 is a totally neutered version made to appeal to the masses. Gone from batch 1 are the flavors that made it a bizarrely interesting and amazing beer. The switch away from liquor soaked groittenes cherries to plain ole’ regular cherries made this a lot less complex and robbed the beer of a great licorice flavor. The dried bananas also robbed the beer of the herbaceous notes the Thai bananas gave it in batch 1.

On the bright side the staff said it wasn’t a matter of if the distillery space will re-open, but when.

I also wonder why the switch to milk stout from Russian..

I imagine the first beer was more expensive to make with the ingredients or they were in limited supply

I think there are a lot of people with no interest in buying growlers. The reasons are many.

Growlers were a novel concept 10+ years ago (In US craft beer, obviously the tradition of filling containers with draft beer to take home has been going on for centuries), so consumers were interested in trying them out. In reality people realize they’re pretty impractical when compared to legitimate packaged beer, so the interest waned.

    Agreed!

When I was first getting into beer years and years ago, growlers were THE hot thing to do.

    Why would you say that?

I personally buy a lot of 20oz IPAs/APAs. Really like them when I want to have 1-2 beers but don't feel like committing to a whole 4-6 pack of something.

Snagged a 20oz Zombie Dust today and it's been perfect hanging out in the back yard, doing some yard work, enjoying the weather.

I much prefer 12 or 16 oz. If I have them in the golf course they can get a tad warm unless your pounding them.

It’s like drinking a bomber oz wise. Were people drinking straight from bombers 10 years ago?

i had a super fresh ZD stove top yesterday whilst doing yard work. it was perfect. it has worked well on the disc golf course too. now we’ll see how it does in the sweltering heat but so far this year it’s been a welcomed companion.
