The outlet mall that used to be there is being developed into an adult-oriented destination marketplace. Wine bar, brewpub, indoor/outdoor concert venue, several restos, a CBD store, health food store, 3-D theater, and more. I kinda like the transformation so far, and Black Flannel is a big part of it.

Alewife and I always stop at Queen City when in Burlington. She's not an IPA fan so this place works just fine. English milds, German Weizens, Rauchs, Helles and Dunkel.... Belgian Tripel... a welcome change of pace!

    Prosit!!

I really enjoyed stopping there too but it was my wife’s least favorite brewery of the Burlington trip. I also appreciated that they had many traditional beers on tap.

Their flagship is an English-style porter, and it’s a pretty darn good beer too.

What’s the place that had the arcade attached to it? I had some good stuff there and mixed drinks in the past

Finally have some time to post:

Popped in first to Black Flannel. Awesome food and a nice altbier here! Cool glass.

A_dog park before dinner at Deep City. As you can see, I'm cautious. Didn't want to injure myself before more beer drinking! Priorities!

Foam (obviously) - Another Trip Around The Sun (forget, either 2018 or 2019 version) - this went down nice after the cautious skate session.

Lazy pic but Zero Gravity was cool. We walked from downtown Burlington. Was a bit of hike so this....Lady Bird (I think) was great. Awesome bakery called Great Harvest Bakery & Cafe in between downtown and Zero Gravity.

Hill Farmstead: Edward at The Farmhouse for dinner. I'm an idiot. We'd gone to this place about 8-10 years ago already. Completely forgot. I'm getting old. (hey! my glass dirty??? Still chugged it with great vigor)

Seriously? Had great weather for the weekend but woke up on departure morning to this:

Returning home but...PIT STOP!!! I learned they no longer do Montbeerlier. So sad. But one of my all time favorite places. Had a great late night session at Charlie O's back in the day too!

    Hill Farmstead: George

I think it is popular but I feel like River Roost in White River Junction is underrated. Mas Verde is always so good!

Crazy this is just a sliver of what New England has to offer in the beer world. And I live about 3 miles from Notch Salem. Thanks again everyone for the thread and all the tips. Every time I leave Vermont I feel like there's a half a dozen more places I want to go.

Looks like a fun trip @Curmudgeon

I think we’ll be there in a couple of weeks, so this is all great info.

Nobody ever seems to give Fiddlehead any love but I will always advise that you grab a pizza next door and enjoy some $5 pints. And now Mastermind is in 16oz cans!

I can get some various Fiddlehead around where I live but it's funny, the day I left, someone told me to make sure I check out Fiddlehead. I just didn't have time! I haven't had it in a while but I've enjoyed a lot of Second Fiddle. I'll be back!

I agree. We stopped there for lunch on the way into Burlington when we went. I loved both the food from next door and the beer.

not quite Burlington, but looking for the best lunch/early-dinner spot on the way to the Notch. bar-food + tap-list, assuming Stowe or Waterbury area, but will take anyplace close off 89.

Blackback is my favorite place in the world, but I'll throw in a vote for Three Penny which is every bit as good minus a little bit of nostalgia

I agree with everyone that says Blackback but a little more off the beaten path is Worthy Burger. Always love it there.

My wife and I stop at Big Fatty's every time we head back from VT to Boston. The food is crazy good (tikka masala spice dusted tenders) and lots of great beers on tap. I killed the Society & Solitude #5 keg on Sunday but they added Double Nelson next up.

I misread your original message assuming you are driving South on 89 to Notch brewery. Since you're considering Stowe, you can instead go down on VT100 to Waitsfield/Warren. Not to mention visiting Lawson's there are several lunch places around like Mad Taco.
