ah, will be travelling north from Mass, to THE Notch. not really a beer trip, so was trying to stay close to highway, if I do venture off, Lawson will probably my detour. Been to Mad Taco in Montpelier, loved that too!

Black Diamond in Morrisville is excellent... depends on how you travel up to Smuggs (assuming that's the notch you're referring to). Ten Bends is right there in Hyde Park as well.

thanks, I'll be travelling north into the notch, but staying in Jeffersonville, so those look like good options to check out by looping around from the north side -- trying to avoid multiple daily trips back & forth through The Notch...

Love to hit The Bench for dinner enroute through the Notch. Feeling cheap? The little Burger Barn by the rotary in Jeff is my go-to (but no shelter if weather's bad.) And the self-serve Dairy Stop shed by their parking lot has delicious cheap & healthy snacks.
Btw: Rte. 15 between Morrisville and Hardwick is all torn up, potholed after it rains, and slow af. If you're headed to Hill, be forewarned.

I had a great time this past weekend up in Waterbury, Waitsfield and Burlington. Do not sleep on Freak Folk in Waterbury. It's a must hit when you are in the area.

Nothing to do with traveling to Vermont but stopped in to my local store in Epping, NH on Friday and was pleasantly surprised (well, really, pleasantly blown away) to see cans of Mastermind in the fridge! First time I have ever seen it outside the brewery. I hope it was not a one time thing...

I know this thread is a bit old but still full of great info. We are traveling to Burlington this summer and besides the breweries and eateries, are there any good beer stores for cans/bottles?

Beverage Warehouse in Winooski or Craft Beer Cellar if you make it to Waterbury are the usual recommendations. If you are into lambic Stowe Beverage right next to Alchemist is worth a stop - lots of Drie and Tilquin even if some are a bit dusty.

Bumping this thread rather than starting a new one.

I'll be going to northern Vermont next week for the first time in 5 years and wanted to run my itinerary by BA. For my birthday, my wife has graciously offered to uber me around so I can drink as much as I want.

Wednesday: Leave NY stopping at River Roost on the way. Arrive at airbnb in Stowe. Hit Freak Folk then dinner at Prohibition Pig.

Thursday: Afternoon at Hill Farmstead. Stop at Von Trappe on the way back. Dinner at Doc Ponds unless we just stay at Von Trappe.

Friday: Burlington brewery crawl. Starting at Fiddlehead and working our way up through Burlington I have BBCO, Foam, and Zero Gravity as must hits with lunch/dinner at either Four Quarters or the Farmhouse.

    Saturday: Leave back for NY.

I'm very much open to suggestions especially on the day in Burlington. There are a lot of breweries there, and I know it's impossible to hit them all in just 1 day. I definitely want to hit Fiddlehead, but I'm open to changing my list.

I want to hit Lawson's, but I can't figure out the best way to work it in without adding another lengthy detour. Maybe if we get a late start, it's best to just stop in on Saturday on our way back to NY?

I would definitely keep Fiddlehead as a stop on the way to Burlington. If you’re doing Zero Gravity, you might as well hit Queen City since they’re so close together, unless you don’t want more traditional styles.

I drove 5 hours round trip one afternoon to go to Notch on a whim because @alexsergio randomly messaged me. You can say I like my crispies as well as my hazies. I'll def stop by Queen City!

I didn't mention them, but I'm sure I'll stop by at some point to grab some cans. I was under the impression that they don't have a taproom and only have to go stuff, but I'm basing that off of my last visit in 2016 so I should probably look into that....

They do but it's a 2 can limit for drinking on site outdoors. Only thing you can do inside is use the bathroom

I didn't know they were doing tours during the tasting room renovations. Their website does say they are doing them though. My mistake.

If you're in Stowe and going to HF, stop by Lost Nation. The beers are great, and the food is not bad. Also, if you're willing to drive a bit more (~1h), try to get to Schilling. Everything about it is fantastic. And on the way there or back, Red Barn is a nice stop. The place is very low-key and has nice beers, with their porter would be my favorite.
