Memorial Day weekend has begun for me, so it’s time to sit on the patio, crack open a book, enjoy this Kane Pastel Raindrops and check in on BA. Cheers!

 

In DE for the holiday weekend (perhaps a bad judgement call on my part - traffic is starting to ramp up already, and it's only Thursday. Oh, well - I'm here so I might as well enjoy it.) Drinking a Mispillion River Happy Ending Imperial Stout, and I must say it is tasty. Hides its 10.5% ABV quite well. And it's a DE brewery so I'm drinking local-ish.

 

I quite enjoyed the previous one so having another of the same ..

I see a shot or two of bourbon in my near future.

 

Back home, some fridge cleanup before I get to a bunch of beers over the weekend sent my way by my friend @BBThunderbolt last week, this is arguably my favorite brewery not named Transient. If there was a “you can only drink beer from one brewery forever” codicil in the beer nerd rule book, they’d get a hard look. Absolutely love this classic kolsch.

Hoponius Union… Hops N Onions, but it’s more hops than onions I found.
I’ve been wanting some lighter beers since summer hit last weekend.

Thanks @Shanex for sharing Feast of the Ascension , and @SFACRKnight for asking the right question this am. When I was a kid we got home from school and Mom would say get in the car we’re going to church. Yea, I’m fairly lapsed but I have that core down deep inside.
So I googled this day, and it reminded me of a priest who was into Bob Dylan, and so in a week where another school shooting happened which bummed out our family royally (wife is an elementary school teacher) I feel a little better. Peace and love.


As the Bob Dylan curator at the VB I have always most strongly picked up the thread this priest discusses in the whole career of Bob Dylan.

on tap at Craft & Draft. I'm in a low ABV state of mind to kick off the weekend.

I caught Tuba Skinny on their tour of the Southeast last week. Highlly recommended if you like traditional jazz.

 

Take a guess which one I liked better. The beer or the bourbon?

 

Oh man I am so damn envious right now! Just ate a pretty big dinner and instantly hungry again seeing those lovely piles of deliciousness.

Enjoy! I pretty much always went with the cheeseburger plate myself. Some day I must find my way there again.
