Agree, but I like Stellwagon in Marshfield a little better, but now we're getting further away from Hull.

Speaking of that area, anyone been to Burke Brewery in Hanover? You can see it from Rt 3 South, don't ever hear any chatter about it.

i live up the street from burke's. i went once when they first opened like 4 years ago. the only local bar i've seen them on draft is british beer company in pembroke and i've only seen them in a couple stores. as far as south shore breweries go, i would put them in that tier with district x (abington) and old colony (whitman) where it's mostly just people who live in those towns that frequent the brewery.

the irish dry stout was on-point for the style, everything else i've had was mediocre. i'm going to guess that they haven't stepped their game up much since nobody around here ever mentions them.

Cool, thanks for the intel. I’m down that way quite a bit in the summer, will stick with Stellwagon and Untold

No need for a car to go to Cambridge Brewing Company, Lamplighter, Remnant, night shift, idle Hands, Trillium, Sam Adams, Faces etc. All within a short walk of a subway station.

My favorite stop in the city these days is Lamplighter, well worth whatever the walk is from the nearest public transport. Outdoor beers as the Nigh Shift and Trillium spots are worth the stop as well.

It dawned on me that the Lamplighter CX location is literally right next to the new Lechmere station. I think it's a no-brainer to start recommending to people.

From there easy to get back on the green or walk over to orange and send people to Malden or Union Square (and soon hopefully the rest of the GLX)

Hi, Hope it's OK to piggyback this thread. I'm in Boston in August and won't have a car.
I noticed Vitamin Sea mentioned above and a quick Google search seems to show it's accessible by public transport from Boston. It's a little over an hour which is fine but wondered if anyone else had taken this route ? It would likely to be on a Saturday

the 222 bus from the quincy center subway station is your best bet. i believe it stops by the weymouth elks club, vitamin sea (and barrel house z) are a short walk from there. pretty sure that bus only comes once an hour.

Since the thread has been bumped and I'm heading up there tomorrow I may as well ask if anything has changed since May? We'll be able to get to Hingham if necessary but if anything is available in town that would be great.

I also did notice that Vitamin Sea now has a beer garden in Hull, so that seems to be perfect timing :sunglasses::grin:.

I think Vitamin Sea is a step above the other places in this area (i'm in Cohasset) so I think you'll have a great time at their truck in Hull. Just note their Weymouth location will have a lot more variety

I appreciate that, and it makes sense. Since this is a short stay I think that time will be more important than variety; but it's great having something like that in walking distance, so we'll most likely take advantage of the truck. Cheers!

Is the truck still there? The Instagram post says it was only for July.
