Interesting, Scribe b2 was one of the favorite beers I have ever had and I traded for more. Like @pconn10 I am going to see how a year or two changes it, but I am not at all surprised that it is a polarizing beer.

Wow really? I thought they pulled it off, wish I had another! Invite a buddy over to have some with you instead of drain pouring it, it’s a tough one to come by. I got a beer buddy that we do porch swaps all the time

Omnipollo just posted about their SP collab Billionaire’s Hot Chocolate. I’m pretty confused about what’s going on with this. I know that Henok brewed with Cory at SP. The barrels ended up at Omnipollo and they sent Cory samples “to join complementing barrels into one beer”? It’s bottled and labeled as an Omnipollo beer. Will there be a SP version as well? I have no idea what’s going on.

The original SP post on 12/18/18 says the stout they brewed was going into bourbon barrels, and Omnipollo’s post says they used Willet rye barrels. I’m guessing they are two separate brews and blends. The Omnipollo label also says 12.5% abv which would be unusual for a SP BA stout.

 

i couldn’t remember the date but i remember the ig post with Cory & Henok and it definitely seemed like it was slated for a SP release. i specifically remember Cory mentioning the organic vanilla puffs they were using.

 

Serious question: Does Omni ever actually produce a full BA beer, or just blends? I haven’t had many Omni beers, but I can’t think of any fully BA stouts from them. If this is a blend, that could be one of the reasons that the ABV is a lower, aside from just the fact that it is “the Omni release” and not the “SP release”.

 

There’s definitely a SP version. That Instagram livestream mentioned wanting to release them at the same time.

 

idk, the wording on that Omnipollo post definitely makes it sound like it is going to be an Omnipollo-only release. it even has pictures of the SP brew day, like that is what is bottled…

 

That doesn’t make sense. They didn’t brew a beer here, fill barrels, the ship those over to Europe. Completely impractical.

Unless the package price is also for billionaires.

That Instagram live stream absolutely said both breweries were releasing their version, so unless the SP version was dumped….

 

Looks like SP killed it at the Firestone Walker Invitational. BBT21, For Gabe, Anabasis b5, D15, bottle pours of BBT19, Fuzzy, La Ruche, PN13, Biere Blanche…

 

i watched almost all of that live stream but was in and out here and there due to work. i’ll have to take your word for it! and i hope you’re right.
