    Brävery Brewing - The Shroud Bourbon Barrel-Aged Russian Imperial Stout. 2019 vintage.

    Useless Fact: Brävery Brewing 2019 Bourbon Barrel-Aged The Shroud scored a 94 in a blind taste test by BJCP judges for Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine.
    Take that hypeboiz .

    Poured out a very deep brown and settled into Midnight Black. Im excited.

    Bourbon scent punches you in the nose with dark chocolate and roasted malt marching behind.

    Sips one through 5 are all BOURBON PRESENCE , COCOA , DARK CHOCOLATE AND PLUM. This fucker is good. First beer ever from Brävery and I may seek out more of this one. It was gifted to me by a friend who obviously knows me too well.
    Very well made BBA Russian Imperial Stout.

    look: 4.25 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

    500ml bottle, date codes: 27.05.25, 17.08.21, 2468
    Look: nice looking beer, black body that doesn't let any light thru, nice medium brown head that leaves some lacing.
    Smell: chocolate, dark fruit, roast, brown sugar
    Taste: follows the nose, plus a hint of red wine, cherry wood, and maybe coffee. Smooth. Not really all the bitter. Has some sweet notes to it. ABV is well hidden. Not harsh in anyway
    Feel: good, not thin, low carbonation

    A solid beer, I like it, 4.10/5

    Can't edit my post about darkness but its a 4.51 in database

    Also wanna add that the new can format is stupid as shit. Same as El Segundo switching to cans. Until they create a Can Stopper i will keep searching out 2021 and prior vintages

    I haven't been keeping up, can you expand on this? I used to love PT5 but haven't seen any in a couple of years. Are they still made?

    They are still made but another brewery (ROAK) absorbed Dark Horse and I’m pretty certain the distro is only within state lines. Cheers.

    Thanks for the push, I stopped by today and grabbed two bottles, $4.29 each. I can get a case for $77, very tempted.

    Chilling these for a day off. Thursday is my 7th day straight. If I don’t go to the Phillies game Friday I will open one up.

    Cross posting from wbaydn. Smashing a sump. This beer just gets sweeter every year. Probably giving up on this one. I love coffee stouts, but the lactose detracts. Can I get a simple coffee stout America?
