Father’s Day? Is it one week from now in Belgium? Time zones are confusing.

Good day BAs! Thanks @belvedere86 for both starting the thread and reminding us about another fake Hallmark Card commercial holiday. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

I drank a couple of these when I picked them up a couple of months back but I didn't review them until today - oh the difference 60 days makes! This has mellowed, melded, and melted into a ghost of its former self. Slightly whiskey-ish, vaguely chocolate, and ill-remenbered raisins give this a score of 3.41 and an rDev of -12.6%. Guess I should have rated it when I first had it.

    Good morning BA
My wife, daughter and myself drove 16 hours in 36 hours this weekend to attend my daughter's college orientation and registration, then back home. I don't feel like doing much today...

I'm going to post this description of the beer in hopes that the pitchforks will stay in the barn.

Cartel Brewing and Lancaster Brewing have collaborated on a beer called “Respect Your Elders”. This beer “pays tribute to the OG breweries & purveyors of delicious double India Pale Ale from here and abroad”. Beer fans will notice how similar the can label looks to Russian River’s iconic “Pliny The Elder”. The two Lancaster breweries actually got Russian River and Vinnie Cilurzo (co-owner of Russian River Brewing) to give their blessing to make this beer and label for a one-time batch!

Respect Your Elders is an 8% ABV West-Coast style double IPA available Thursday, May 26th at 4PM in 4-packs of 16oz cans, and on draft at both Lancaster Brewing (Plum Street only) and Cartel Brewing. There will also be some collectible bottles in the OG Pliny style bottle.

If you want to know how this was check out NBW. Big thanks to @woodychandler for getting this beer to me. Cheers all!

@belvedere86 completely threw me off with the Father’s Day comment. Good thing I have a Barleywine to bring me back.

Happy belated birthday Dan! I definitely did the dance recital thing for two daughters. Now our youngest (29) is the dance director at the high school she graduated from.....so I'm in my 30th year of going to them (we still go to every one to support her). Cheers, I'm sure the brisket will be killer!!

Full review in the New Beer Sunday #903 thread. Long story short, typical bigger brewery take on the style with more bitterness, which would have been great if it brought with it pine (or any) flavor.

@mschrei featured many great 1988 WXRT flashback tunes yesterday. Have a couple "college rock" tunes still available.

Thanks. Vann! I can definitely relate. When I met my wife twenty-eight years ago she owned a dance studio, now she teaches for my daughter who has a studio in our town. Wife, daughters, granddaughters, and sister all dancers. Recitals have been my birthday ritual my entire life. Cheers!

I used to have to go to my daughter's dance recitals and I realized how bad the sound was so I started doing the sound for the shows with my PA system which made them a lot more fun to go to. Made a huge difference in the quality of the experience for folks.
