Tonight's Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup:

    1) Paulaner Pilsner (4.8%):
An authentic German Pilsner with flavors of lemon citrus, toasty German bread malts, light honey, yeast, and authentic Munich malts on the finish.
    versus
    2) Jever Pilsener (4.9%): An authentic German Pilsner with flavors of cracker malt, and a bitter, hoppy yeast flavor. A crisp finish.
    (mismatched the two blind)

    3) Drekker Blacklight Syndicate (8.3% canned 4/25/22): A NEIPA from North Dakota brewed with Citra, Mosaic, and Azacca for flavors of grapefruit citrus, peach and citrus rind that bitter the finish.
    versus
    4) Drekker King of The Thing (8.3% canned 6/1/22): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Citra hops for flavors of orange citrus, pineapple, and tropical flavors. Sweet on the finish.
    (correctly matched blind)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners:

    1) Paulaner Pilsner: The standard German Pilsner. True to style & balanced. Jever was interesting in that it was more hoppy, yeasty, bitter, and crisp. Enjoyable as well.

    4) Drekker King of The Thing: A nice showcase of the Citra Hop. Has the orange, pineapple but also some tropical flavors as well. It's also more fresh. Blacklight Syndicate was good as well with more citrus rind and pith bitterness to the beer. Both a little too sweet for my taste, but still a slight edge to the The King of the Thing.

Yeah, sadly NA, a day off from everything other than @#($&(# work. Hot as hell out there (for CO).

Packing up to head up to Silverthorne tomorrow, for an early departure Wednesday on a 3 day water symposium focused on the Colorado River crisis. Should be... fun? But eye-opening for sure. Staying another 2 nights after in Frisco, to get some high altitude running and perhaps some beer... if I can find, you know, a quality brewery up there.:stuck_out_tongue::sunglasses:

    Cheers!

The cans seem to offer a different mouthfeel to me, at least enjoyed in a proper glass.

The last beer was a drain pour. I'm not even sorry. That's on me for letting it hide in the beer fridge. These cans have a tendency to get sneaky. Now enjoying this Riwaka + Motueka from Other Half. Cheers!

Its super carbonated, and really green right now (not saying thats a bad thing ha). I was at Kroger on Saturday, and the Lone Pint guys were literally filling the aisle with the brand new six pack cans.

Hey BA's, hanging out in New Bern, NC area for the week. Hot and steamy down here in the coastal plains of NC, low 90's with humidity in the 60% range. My glasses literally fogged over when we left a museum for lunch today which is a crazy concept for this long-time desert dweller!
Brought a few beers along and am enjoying an Italian Benedictine Monk brewed beer, a Belgian Blonde/Pale Ale style which i am very impressed with. Very refreshing and light but packed with some nice phenols and esters that give it a lemon-pepper slant.
    Cheers!

Now that you've mentioned it the other day and I put more Yellow Rose cans down I notice it to. I'd really like to have a bottle to compare. I do remember more pillowy body less carbonation tho.
