Some familial loss this week, so let’s not forget to eat, drink, and be merry…

Having a little fun with Left Hand tonight. Keep it clean, heathens!

Trying a cuvée experiment of their Double Milk Stout (really solid drink at a great price point) and their Peanut Butter stout.

Double Milk Stout alone: Creamy, chocolatey, menacing but approachable malts.

Peanut Butter Stout alone: Strong peanut butter aroma. Taste is roastier and more bitter than the DMS.

50/50 Blend. Not bad. The PBS nose stays strong. The DMS body stays creamy but is a little imbalanced by the bitterness of the PBS.

75/25 (DMS /PBS): Hmmm. Yes. Yes. On to something here. The creamy mouthfeel is a strong point, the bitterness is subdued, and the peanut butter aroma is strong with enough of the flavor to really sync with the creaminess.

25/75 (DMS/PBS): Also not bad. The roasty bitterness is notched down, nose still excellent, though the mouthfeel gets a bit too thin.

Edit: Withba little massaging, I think an American version of Yellow Belly is possible. Color me nuts…peanuts!

 

I think they were closed tonight. I've had their Mosaic IPA and recall enjoying it.

 

Hot enough here. Goose Island Hazy Beer Hug. Not going say Lightning in a Bottle was great wall to wall. There were a lot of pleasant surprises in it though

I’m liking this more than the last time I had it a few years back:

 

Cousin Pulpy is in town for a few days and it is totally Gnarly.

 

It has been very hot in Denver yesterday and today! Even a hot weather lover like me starts getting uncomfortable at 98 F. I took a hike up near Evergreen today where it was a little less hot but still high 80s. I crushed this Mexican lager with lime and salt from 4 Noses in the woods. It was absolutely beautiful today, though.



Now I'm relaxing at home with this refresher.

 

Still drinking Left Hand but look at this full moon! Sure, you can’t see it because I am terrible at photography, but it’s like day time.
