Guess I am not sure why people say this or “Race to the bottom. Sad”. Shouldn’t we all be glad if people are racing to the bottom? That implies we are getting closer to the secondary meeting the actual market. As these get closer, fewer people will be trying, and more people will be obtaining these to actually drink.

Please, let the shitlords race to the bottom. Please!

The sad was more referring to people buying and trying to unload as fast as possible for a quick buck (ie selling the package and saying the buyer also has to sort out their own pickup). I actually don't mind if secondary for these drops because I only have interest in drinking them so wouldn't mind hoarding. Completely agree with your point.

in somewhat related news, white peaches were being pitted today so Rye BBT with peach shouldn’t be too far off.

I saw it....and then saw the person that bought it supposedly raffle it for more. SP is normally all over canceling those orders so either they somehow haven't seen it yet or it's a major troll post. Something smelled off while I was scrolling through that post........

...and it was not the jalapeno beef sticks I had for dinner

Hoping for a stonk crash so I can turn my Reserve + Birthday Medianoches into RBBT.

All I'm seeing is RBBT going for Weller 12 and other brown water. As an aside, I've had a pour of Weller 12 and it didn't impress any more than the other Wellers. I guess that big number on the label is fancy though.

They’re upset because many more people than we realize actually enjoy the culture that surrounds this brewery. I’ve seen many people bask in the glory of getting to have something that no one else gets to have. Or even worse, being able to sell it for 5x cost. I don’t really give a shit. Sell them. Trade them. Drink them. What you own is your business. But you can’t argue with the fact that there’s a ton of people who want things to stay just the way are the right now.

No. Long time members are secretive about it because it’s been shut down before but it’s not like it’s hard to join. They’ll approve just about anyone.

WSR, OWA and W12 are...fine at their supposed MSRP but the market has gotten completely out of hand. The only one I really enjoyed was WFP but I tend to drink more BP stuff so it's personal taste. ETL was an amazing bottle at $27.99 until word got out. Really the only thing to do is to find readily available bottles that you like and build up a little hoard in case the market gets silly. A lot of these allocated bottles are sourced too so it's not hard to find substitutes that may not be as good but are in the ballpark and easy to get. Think Hughes Belle of Bedford instead of Willett Rye (I love Willett btw). Also Larceny BP which is much easier to get than WFP.

I paid $11 for my 1.5oz pour of Weller 12 and thought that was a reasonable price. Any more than that, and I'm reaching for something else.

Fortunately, I haven't had a lot of trouble finding Willet 4yr Rye. It's my favorite brown water by far. Perhaps I should go buy a couple more bottles in case people start flipping them.... I will have to keep my eyes out for Larceny BP. I've had the regular, and enjoyed it, especially at that price point.

As an aside, I stumbled into my first bottle of Blanton's in the wild this past week in Las Vegas at a CVS of all places. They were asking $99. Damn tempted, but didn't want deal with the trading game to turn that into some SP (though it was tempting knowing the RBBT release was upcoming).

Is Blantons really worth anything from SP? Wow. I didn’t realize the stock was up like that for bottle at 59 state min.

Eh, I think it's a bottle you toss in to add some good value, but it's not necessarily an 'anchor'. That also depends on what letter you have, and what the trader is seeking. It may have been a solid enough bottle to pair with the other beers I have on hand.

I don't follow trades super closely though, so perhaps I'm way off. Hell, I traded my one rare-ish SP bottle for beers from a Michigan brewery that seemingly no one has ever heard of. lol.
