3 Floyds Brewing (2022)

Grabbed the latest Amber Smashed Face too.. the label description describes the beer. Feels heavy. Heavy malt. Heavy hops. Can see it turning more malt if it sits but fresh, it's better than I remember the bombers but recency bias yada yada

Having cat date again now. Not sure what I think.. i enjoy it. It's clean. Balance malt and hop but hop seems a little more exotic than usual but I just drink it I don't make it

Dismembers and Not Drunk At All Monk still winning

Also got Boston round butts of 10 ply and Bomb Pop or whatever its called. Just typical solid work, can't help but to think 10 Ply is a pillowy soft ass wipe when you can just do pub only witbiers with no pub traffic

thanks! it’s a proper, big boy pint glass. i actually drink a lot of lagers out of it. and i can’t remember which year DLD i got it but it was leftover from the year before.

Dismembers finally hit the shelves of a few local bottle shops out my way, after being delayed 3 weeks, and I dunno whatchu all are talking bout, but I get a lot of banana, and frankly anymore would probably be too much. To quote the old lady upon first sip: "Very banana. Caramelized banana. Wow. Like bananas Foster." She puts my reviews to shame. That said, any cacao and cherry are much further in the background behind the barrel char and warmth.

It's an enjoyable brew, and I'm glad I got it, but the previous two were easily my faves of the three so far.

 

i felt like the banana was really balanced and/or it just worked that well either the other additives and barrel. Crushing Mass #1, CocoMungo 2, this 3rd but was still surprised how much i enjoyed this one given it was the most “floyds” of the 3.

 

I felt the same way. Glad I only picked up one 4 pack. It’s good, but the adjuncts don’t work nearly as well for me as the previous 2. But glad others are enjoying it.

 

alright, someone clarify for me and help me to think i’m not going crazy. BA has two listings for Chemtrailmix - one for 2017,2021 and one for 2018-2020. the distinguishing difference being 17,21 is aged in bourbon barrels and 18-20 aged in rye barrels. i specifically remember 2017 (first year for CTM) being aged in bourbon barrels, but i thought each subsequent year was rye barrels. anyone?

 

Well, the FFF’s dark lord day site has 2021 as rye, so…you are probably correct.

No, 2021 was bourbon. I've had to submit this correction on BA like 7 times now. Why do you all keep thinking otherwise? 2021 went back to bourbon, the DLD.info site is wrong @kodt

You can even see it on the check-ins. 2021 was blue wax.

i referenced the DLD website after @HouseofWortship mentioned it and assumed floyds would have it correct. and i guess i haven’t looked at the Untapped pics enough (or closely enough). my bad. glad to clear up the confusion too (finally ).

 

One small step to slowly putting the pieces of my life back together. Now about that lost son of mine...

 

i’ll probably never be allowed to add or correct a beer entry every again. that should free me up to find this son of yours…

 

with the exception of Gorch Fock, it doesn’t get much more traditional than this from floyds.
