I only had 1 bottle, and it was fantastic! My buddy had a bad one and the stuff he was picking up was nothing like the one I had

The venerable Untappd would suggest this - people having widely different experiences. My 1 data point was port wine with soy sauce.

happy father’s day to all! happy sunday to all. if Rye BBT ‘20 = BBT ‘19 (with that massive, in-your-face barrel), then Rye BBT ‘22 = BBT ‘18. extreme chocolate, well integrated and balanced barrel. drinking phenomenally out of the gate. cheers!

I found someone willing to share who had nursed this bottle close to serving temperature. First pour was thick & viscous, but not so viscous it doesn't want to go down your throat like Weldwerks. Nose was all bakers chocolate, bourbon & rye barrel, and mild pepper from the Rye. No tobacco or leather notes like some other rugged BA stouts give off; this was pure decadence.

Like @Luscious_Malfoy states it is more like BBT '18 to me than like RBBT b1, which is a good thing for me. I thought b1 was a bit too Rye forward for my liking and was my 4th favorite BBT behind '19, '20, and '18 (in that order). Then this vintage comes along and it just blew me away. The barrel characteristics are on total display and the base stout is more of a vehicle to exhibit these beautiful barrels. I do not like whiskey, but beers like this make me wish I did. I would say top 2 favorite BBTs (just behind fresh 2019 which is the GOAT for me). This beer is a gem.

As is the norm at Side Project some nice folks sitting nearby shared a BA Ambiente that was 1/3 full. Similarly thick & viscous, notes of dark chocolate, tobacco, cinnamon, and mud pie. As it warmed up the cinnamon popped more and took center stage. It is amazing that we live in a city where this beer is easily accessible. Overall very enjoyable and thanks to the kind folks who shared.

cracked a CdC b9 last night. very similar look and smell to b1, with the exception of the foam head fizzing away in a matter of seconds and leaving no trace of bubbles or any lacing whatsoever. it’s definitely undercarbed, whether intentionally or unintentionally i could not say. i wouldn’t say that it’s flat because there is some “spritziness” to it but it definitely drinks more like a glass of white wine than a beer. i let it sit out for 20 minutes or so before opening and pouring. it got to be a little bit of a chore on the back end as it reached room temp. next time, i think i’ll try it straight from the fridge.

Now that Rye & Baambi are out I wonder what’s next?

Anabasis, Continuance b3, and the casita rye wine should all be up soon alongside Billionaire’s Hot Chocolate.

Has there been any word as to what Continuance 3 is in terms of blend or adjuncts?
