    What is the can’t-miss,

a.) “Dude, I know you’re not super into double IPAs, but this beer fucking slaps” beer

    and

b.) “Of all the lagers, get this” beer

    Sandwich, tomorrow.

    Much obliged.

IPA: Very Gggreen if you still like galaxy, Juice Machine generally one of the best, king creamsicle if you’re open to vanilla (no lactose)

lager: Free to Roam by a mile unless you want dark, then go Nomad

Cool. I’ve had Very Gggreen, though I’m not opposed to a revisit.

    How’s the czech pils?

I’m with @wehaveamap on Free to Roam. One of the best lagers they do imo. Nomad also solid if you’re leaning dark. I’d go for Idle Mind (Vienna) as a runner up from the Sandwich list. I recall enjoying Trail, but I’ve only had it once.

I'm in the minority here since I didn't like their oak-conditioned beers compared to the regular ones like Wanderer Helles. Also, neither an IPAs nor a lager, but I loved Catharsis porter.

I am fairly certain that at one point Nate gave a significant scoff towards lactose in IPAs, but here we are. First it was fruited IPAs, I lamented those and called out the nonsense, now it is just a "hint of milk sugar" and I am calling it out again. Oye!

Never had Wanderer or Catharsis. Had VB Catharsis and I did not think that was good.

I never had VB Catharsis, but the regular one didn't need any tweaks — it was great as is.

Drinking Incredible Machine now, and I can say it crosses the line for me. It’s close to TIPA territory in terms of ABV, but it’s just got too much going on and honestly doesn’t even taste like a TH IPA. I had a very similar experience with Emperor Julius. I would not get this again. It also tastes nothing like Juice Machine or Jjjuiceee Machine, for that matter

Thus re-confirming that 8.5% is my max unless it’s something I just want to try for the sake of ticking

I gotta say, was never the biggest fan of the green family but the greenest green is pretty great. really smooth and creamy, doesn’t have that bitter bite I remember from regular green

I run from any milk sugar / oat milk / lactose ipa, I just don’t like them. I’ve tried a few of their fruit purée beers, I enjoyed them. Very hazy with peach purée makes sense.

anyways, tree house definitely opened a few new doors for their 10th anniversary.

My biggest hurdle is soloing 750 imperial stouts and barleywines. That 16oz vb tree of life took me over and hour and a half to finish, delicious it was. One more left.

Ngl, can’t relate. Green is my favorite buy when it comes to ipas. Vg, vggg and gg are all outstanding as well.

So I just had my bottle of Truth. I enjoyed it, but it felt rather standard for the style. Nicely complex, but super thick. I gave it 4.35 overall

Czech pils is good but didn't wow me. I have had some Trail (German pils) that was very good though

I’m with you here. Even though you get more, it’s still a big hit to the final checkout price. Also, almost everyone that I drink beer with does not drink stouts or barleywines. This means I can’t really share them and drink a majority of 750s myself. 500ml is perfect for sharing these monstrosities, anyway, and 12oz is perfect for drinking them solo. In fact, I don’t think there’s a reason for them to package any barleywines in a > 12oz format. Their price point is actually reasonable for the most part, so you can buy multiple and share if needed.

That VB Tree of Life was great, but another example of 12oz being the right size for it. It was at the upper level of sweetness and almost going over the edge.

As far as the few Treehouse Lagers I've had go, I didn't like Free to Roam at all. Not a fan. I'm with you on that for sure.

I LOVED Nomad. Had a 20 oz pour in Deerfield. Not sure if they are still pouring it in a vessel of that size. It was a hefty glass mug, not a plastic cup. Very nice.

I also liked Trail, the German Pils. Nice.

Nomad, however, was the stand out.
