Just got home from an interminable 19-1 baseball game. That would be 3 hours and 24 minutes of my life that I'm not gonna get back. Unwinding with a Cushwa Cush NEIPA.

 

Time for another? Yep.

Since the bar is nearly empty, I'm going to go on a bit. My wife and I made the five hour trip to visit my parents and maternal grandparents this weekend. My grandparents will celebrate their 68th wedding anniversary next week. This week, the roof partially blew off one of the barns at the farm my mother was raised on. My soon-to-be 88 year old grandpa erected four layers of scaffolding and began to clear the rest. Luckily, he has a wonderful Amish neighbor who knew grandpa would be at the farmers market this morning selling produce that he picks himself and brought his sons to reroof the barn. I am only 48 years old, but I'm constantly surprised by the strength of the human spirit and the genuine goodness of people.

I am really impressed with the spirit of your family and frankly jealous of their age defying abilities. Here is hoping all gets taken care of. You should feel blessed that you come from great folks.

 

I think my beer fridge is at the lowest it’s been in years. Kind of funny and incongruous to see… Going to attempt to completely purge it all before restocking. (Not counting my “cellar”).

I wish I had some Hamm’s but son-in-law brought a 12 pack of Pabst with him.

 

Good on you, brother. I get a bit squirrelly with only 3-4 Hamm's or 2-3 Wernesgruner in my beer fridge.

 

My wife and I noticed that there seems to be a plethora of fire flies this summer. Way more than the last several years. This is a good thing, right?

 

I was going to ask you Mike if you prefer Pabst or Hamm's, but you beat me to it. As you well know, free beer is the best my friend.

 

I love completely clearing the beer fridge before buying more. I imagine it's what an artist feels like looking at a blank canvas.

 

I have not seen a single one here.

 

My last of these and I am finally rating this. Perennial Prism Dry-Hopped Saison with Ekuanot Cryo & Cashmere Hops. This is a strong way to close out the night.

 

One last Pliny on draft at SFO. (Several bottles and DDH cans in my checked luggage, ha.)

 

I like them both but I am pretty well wed to IPAs both locally brewed (we got ‘‘em here) and my favorites from Maine Beer Company.
