Valuations are all over the place. Too chaotic right now to really get a strong sense of accurate value

Head on this from opening pour was thick and creamy. Impressive. Didn’t fizzle away is usually a good sign.

 

Two hours plus with this one and some notes…

First time having it and happy to have tried it. That said, it’s good. Maybe, very good, maybe. I think it was best cold, first pour. A bit unhinged thereafter.

Becomes a bit glossy to me. Maybe coconut isn’t my thing, but vanilla saved it. A lot of good, rich chocolate. Mouthfeel was solid. Not the best comparison, for a few reasons (being BA key), but had Coco Medianoche fairly recently and thought that was better/preferred. Likely helped that I poured like a pro and avoided the glob at the end of my bottle.

As for pricing, I know, I paid it because I wanted to try it. I’m sure those ingredients are pricy, but this to me wasn’t worth a $40 bottle. The price didn’t factor into what I drank. The beer is good. Only thought of it after and editing now.

I’d drink it again-shared bottle, draft. No issues with taking down the bottle, never felt like a chore, but never had any “wow” sips start to finish.

Overall: Good. Happy to have tried it. Probably wouldn’t get it again.

 

Almost popped that last night but the vote went to the new perennial member bottle vanilla stout

 

What did you think of that, which one? I had the 2021 one in the winter and really enjoyed that.

 

good choice. i had the vanuatu variant on draft on Friday. was very tasty.

hotter than blazes but had a good time hanging in the parking lot Friday morning. it was honestly so crowded and loud in the tasting room at open that i could barely assess my pour of BHC. nor was i really in the mood for a massive BA imperial stout after sweating my beanbag off outside. from what i do remember the adjuncts seemed to cover the barrels a bit but it was chocolate-forward and very dessert-like. still, managed to meet some new faces from my neck of the woods that happened to be down there and had fun chugging lagers with @not2quick. all in all, pretty fun day.
