This is a "New to Me" Stout that @jzeilinger was good enough to introduce me to. Weyerbacher Sunday Morning Stout, ABV 12.7%.

Its Friday and Im back with another IMperial Stout. Trillium Peanut Butter PM Dawn. Im in Pennsylvania for the week, so going to try to find some local stouts while out and about, but also did travel with beers as a backup. Ive enjoyed the base version of this stout and am hopeful for this variant.....No it isnt a Loki!

    onto my review:

Sampling a 16 oz can of this beer, date stamp is 3/23/2022. Part of my winnings for the English Premier League BIF !!
Pouring at cellar temp into a snifter, the beer pours a dark coffee brown color and no light passes through the glass.
A dense tan foam of about 2 cm foams up from a gentle pour and fades slowly to a sturdy edge layer, plus one large island in the center of the glass.
Aroma is rich dark chocolate and a bit of roasted malt. This mixes with some sweeter peanut butter notes, not husky peanut shell, but more like a jar of spreadable PB. No hint of ABV nor any hops at this point in the sampling.
First sip reveals a medium body with very fine and tingly carbonation. The texture is pretty smooth and the beer drinks pretty easy for an imperial stout.
Flavor is dark chocolate and nutty peanut butter, with a little bit of a sweeter note too. This rolls to some roasted malts and a bit of sweetened coffee, definitely not bitter notes here. I dont get any hops nor any booziness anywhere.
This is a smooth peanut butter and dark chocolate cup mashed into a beer can. Drinks easy and feels nice. Pretty quality imperial stout that has good peanut butter character and isnt artificial tasting.
    4.26 in the BA DB

First one was fresh and i didnt like it, this one is about 2 years old and im lovin it

Nose is all choclate, coffee, dark malt , vanilla bean and some hints of chili.
Taste follows . All chocolate, strong coffee, dark malt, pleasantly sweet vanilla and very mild chili heat.
Updated my initial review, this is much better with some years on it

Thank you! My favorite of all the Black Ravens (local for me). IMO should be one of the top 5 most distributed Imperial stouts, in the Narwhal/Old Rasputin category. And a nice honest stout without gimmickry. Too bad BR's flagship dark is the coconut porter.

Been wanting this beer for about 4 years now. The PM Dawn series is so good, but the peanut butter version has always eluded me!

    Hey all,

Picked up 3 imperial stouts from Zebulon Brewing recently which is in the greater Asheville area.
Thought i would start with the Traditional Imperial Stout, which is brewed in the fashion as if brewed for export to the Russian imperial court back in the 1800's.
Executed exactly as envisioned with the malt base that is very roasted and emits notes of dark chocolate and coffee and hopped very heavily. Have to say this is the most bitter brew i have had this year including IPA's LOL. Rated it a 4.58 overall.
Zebulon's owner/brewer Mike Karnowski is known for his take on historical recipes and executing them quite well. Hope to visit the taproom soon!
    Cheers!
    Tom

Nothing going on here today so I decided I’d spend the evening sipping something nice.

Darkness has always held up well in my experience and this is no exception. The amount of carb had me worried for a second but all is well. Drinking like a big mocha milkshake. Not sure if this is my favorite non-BA unadulterated impy stout but it’s damn close. Hope everyone is having a safe & stouty holiday weekend.

Reaching deep into the beer cellar and I pull out…chocolate fudge cake

Brewers Notes: Chocolate Fudge Cake is an imperial milk stout brewed with chocolate, cocoa powder, and vanilla beans. It is intended to emulate the delicious flavor profile of chocolate cake with vanilla frosting, and boy does it ever. Enjoy it with someone you love.

Black motor oil poured into a Tree House snifter , pencil thick creamy brown layer quickly fades to a ring,

Aroma is cocoa powder, milk chocolate

Taste is sweet, Hershey syrup milk chocolate, fudge brownie, vanilla frosting , it tastes like liquid chocolate fudge cake

Sweetness lingers, more sweet than stout, it is a sweet sweet beer

Good beer but i need a shot of insulin as a chaser

Holy cow! Six more pages to read here. Boy am I behind. I’ll just have to read onward. No more likes, that will just clutter everyone’s alerts. Know that I am vicariously enjoying your posts.

happy 4th fellow ‘mericans. non-US-of-A’ers - happy monday. pre-yardwork beer. needed something that would simultaneously ramp me up and that i could also run my mower engine on

in all seriousness, picked this single can up on Friday while visiting StL and it’s solid. not a ton of coconut but it’s there and compliments the weller barrels perfectly. i gave it an overall rating of 4.42. the 12oz can (which set me back $10) is a wonderful format and cheers to 2nd shift for allowing single can purchases instead of shelling out for $40 4pks. they know what’s up!

hope everyone has a nice day! cheers!
