Where’s the Fourth?! Unless you were subtly pointing that out. Their webpage info is incorrect.

Today is the 1st, Monday is 7/4, but yes, they are open.

German Afternoons and Hefe Weisse into cans this week. Availability starting Thursday 7/7 at the tap rooms. Distro after that.

Ooh, I've been craving that Hefe since I had it in Brighton a couple of weeks ago.

My apologies in advance, I’m buying all of the cans of each.

my brother, who I am hanging with tomorrow, was in Salem yesterday. I took a look at the to-go menu thinking he could grab some beer for me. Nothing really stood out.

Then … this! Missed by 48 hours.

I may have a Portland trip in my immediate future though so I can’t complain (it’s either that or 18 at Abenaqui).

Two of the three beers (not Tenner) are going out to distro. Not sure they’ll make it to Canada though.

Speaking of distro, is there a beer finder for Notch? I will be crossing MA on I91 and wonder if there is a store along the way to look for their beers.

Looks like Homegrown handles out that way. Maybe contact them for stores, etc.

Yeah, I saw that page. I was hoping there is an actual tracker, not necessarily advertised.

I don’t think they have that unfortunately.

Coopers Corner in Florence, MA or Lighthouse Liquors in East Longmeadow, MA. Both are about 10 minutes off 91. Cooper’s has an excellent selection of many beers.

Another vote for Cooper's Corner getting a fuck ton of Notch. I had heard this store was nice, so I made it a point to stop in on Sunday before going to a concert in Springfield (at Two Weeks Notice Brewing) and I was very impressed with the selection. I walked away with 2 Notch beers but they had like 6 different ones

How old were the cans and were they kept cold?

I see some stores with a huge selection of Notch, but I’ll see something like Suspect Device still there which was canned back in March. And most of the selection will be out on the floor.

Not saying that’s the case here, just something to watch out for.

Unless it's an IPA, I wouldn't worry too much if the beer is 3-4 months old, assuming it wasn't stored in a too warm a place.

Just personal preference, I like to know my beer was cold the whole time, specifically a pale lager. Those have a fair amount of hop character too.

I think one could argue it could impact a more subtly hopped style more than an IPA. Makes something more balanced more malt forward.

It's always eye opening to me to have a Boston Lager fresh from the brewery or a bottle/can <1 month old. There's a prominent Noble hop character in that beer, and after a couple months that drops off and it becomes a very caramel malt forward beer.

No disagreement here. However, I would rather have a variety of beers from a brewery I never tried before than just one or two very fresh beers.
