Where were you drinking Andeker, as a teenager no less? Where I lived, in my teen years the tavern would get a two week suspension for serving somebody under age 21.

Well, since it has been addressed widely in another thread, I can now wish that Sierra Nevada's Octoberfest would be widely available; also Sierra Nevada's Glissade Bock, Tumbler, and Summerfest lager, to name a few.

And another one - Honker's Ale. If I really think about it, my list could be endless.

This is how the beer was detailed Aug. 21, 2018 in a press release:

“PABST MILWAUKEE BREWERY AND TAPROOM RE-LAUNCHES ANDEKER
Classic brew and crowler design available August 26

MILWAUKEE (August 21, 2018) – After months of refining the historic recipe, Pabst Milwaukee Brewery and Taproom will re-launch Pabst Andeker at an in-house release party from 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday, August 26.

First introduced as a premium brewed European style beer in 1939, the fan favorite will soon be back in Milwaukee. Andeker, a Helles Lager, is built with Pilsner and Munich malts, as a generous addition of caramel malts creates a touch of sweetness and a depth of color. Hopped with German noble hops for that traditional lager appeal and a smooth 16 IBUs, the beer is capped with a traditional thick, white head.

“We’re excited to bring this Pabst classic back to Milwaukee after months of working to perfect the recipe,” said Adam Powers, Pabst Milwaukee Brewery & Taproom general manager. “This recipe re-launch stays true to that iconic brew.”

The Pabst Andeker Release Party will feature limited edition crowlers at Pabst Milwaukee Brewery on Sunday, August 26.”

When Victory brought back Hop Wallop and Hop Devil in the last couple years in limited release, that was very enjoyable. As others mentioned Yakima Glory would be great for a special release. Also Hop Ranch was one of the early mass produced “juicy” IPAs that came out and I’d like to revisit that one as well.

Hop Devil has always been, and still is, a year-round (core) beer.

    Cheers!

Hmmm, maybe it just isn’t regularly distributed down in my parts of MD in last 5-10 years but maybe I’m mistaken.

These were all great beers but were evidently too polarizing for the brewery.
Get the business decision and so sad to see all of them go. (Would totally continue to buy all of them and those who know me here on BA would not be surprised by that answer in the least bit! :heavymetal::smile:)

Usually was in bars in East Tennessee. I repaired jukeboxes and arcade games as a temporary technician on a route, and usually got offered a beer after getting one running.

The young drinker was drinking in Tennesee, so 19 was good til 84. Before 1970 most states were 21, but many lowered the age soon after voting was allowed for 18 year olds. But a 1984 Fed initiative caused most to rise to 21. But I turned 21 in '68, so I was oblivious to the changes. Anyway, it was 21 everywhere I have lived (1947 to now). Anyway, getting Andeker at a bar under any circumstances was a pretty fine treat.
