    thanks!

+1 to Tox. Just had a few offerings from them. Really solid. Ocean Pizza on Ocean Ave in NL for awesome Greek-style pizza.

Beer'd also has "the Silo" in Groton which is the modern taproom sister to their mill home in Stonington. I haven't been yet myself.

Another brewery if you are driving RI Hwy 138 would be Shaidzon in West Kingston. I like their lagers the best but it appears they are ale-heavy right now, this will flip in the next few months leading up to Octoberfest.

I was at Tilted barn the first time since they renovated. Was kinda dismayed tbh. Place was like a daycare. Workers were stressed/grumpy. They basically clearcut the place too. Mellow officially harshed. The beers were fine but all the ones I got to go have been over-filled and under-carbed. Seems like scaling issues I guess. Maybe the covids. idk. hope they can rebalance.

Same experience! Went down the road to Back 40 afterwards.

Huh interesting, I've had good experiences recently on the farmer's market nights. Maybe they staff up those nights to keep up with the large expected crowds, in the early Covid period it was reservation only so they could count on only serving X number of tables. That back area behind the building really does set up nice for those markets and concerts if they have more of those going forward.

I don't know if their old standbys are the same as I remember from the old barn, but a newer beer Maho Bay DIPA was outstanding on draft and took some to go afterward.

TB definitely needed to sacrifice some area up front for the new facility as the crowds were really starting to encroach on their actual house and yard out back. The owners also do run a small operation including Christmas tree farm in the vicinity of the farm and house, so it was a necessary step to separate the uses. Besides that, I can actually get my wife to go now that there is an actual working bathroom and a port-a-potty visit isn't staring her in the face.

Bumping this to grab restaurant recommendations near Brown University. Great beer a plus, but not 100% necessary. No food limitations. We do everything from Italian to BBQ to sushi to Mexican.

I will be there two nights in a couple weeks. Not seeking crazy, drinking crowds. Will be with my eight year old.

The East End on Wickenden St. is good. Especially if you like whisky. Pizza J is kid friendly fun and has a decent taplist.

QFT I was going to suggest Den Den, but your best bet there unless you want Kirin or the like is the Korean Jinro liqueur. Think flavored moscato.

East Side Pockets has the best falaffel, chicken or gyro pitas around, no booze there. The Flatbread Co is just off of Thayer Street and should have plenty of beers, and is the most spacious spot (read kid friendly) in the area IMO.

More downtown, but not far, Rogue Island has a good beer list usually and solid food. Pizza Marvin on Wickenden St usually has a few good beers available and good pizza.

Seconded. Chomp makes some of the best burgers around. Best burger in the area used to go to Luxe until they closed unfortunately

Hell, I loved Citron before it closed and Luxe Burger started there! My wife signed us up for wine class in 2007 or 2008, they'd have a sommelier walk us through different styles every week for 8 weeks, and there would be huge cheese spreads from the College Hill Whole Foods. Couldn't beat that experience.

Long Live is great, particularly for DIPA New England Hazies, but so is Tilted Barn, about 30 mins South of Providence. In between the two is Proclamation Ale in Warwick and those are the big three for "big beers", plus a nod to Grey Sail, for the 1st acclaimed beer in that style in RI

Chomp is good for burgers and beer. Persimmon has outstanding food and cocktails.
