3 Floyds Brewing (2022)

Did anybody read the article that the Chicago Tribune published back in May about 3 Floyds? Interesting article about 3 Floyds post Zombie Dust buzz. Basically the author bought a bunch of their most well known brews to see they still bring the heat. Beware that the Tribune has a pay wall but will allow you to view 1 or 2 articles a month for free.

Three Floyds has grown markedly during the last 10 years. Does it still have the magic?

Still buy 3 Floyds from time to time (have a bottle of Dark Lord from 2019 I need to crack open) and still think their stuff is great. But with so many breweries in the Chicagoland area that make some great brews it's hard to give them a look unless you have a taste for their stuff.

IMO, it has fallen off. I didn't get any individual flavors in the stout when I had it last week. Look forward to hearing what you thought.

 

Let’s just say it’s my 3rd favorite of 3Floyds since they went into the BA 12oz foray. Should of jumped on it sooner. My bad.

Seems a little muddle now but the bananas are still there. Can tell that their dried also. No cherry but chocolate all around. Wish the barrel character was better like crushing and coco. Meh. Don’t hate it tho. The rest will be put into weekend rotation.

I would be very surprised seeing its only a 3 day pick up window for packages.

 

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, I haven't always gotten 3F packages, I only moved into the area a few years ago. Have they done different types of packages before? I thought they were always randomized variants in a single package...

DLD tickets were not sold out for 6-7 hours in 2019 so not sure what value a presale code has (assuming it's just a presale code and no discount/differences with a regular 2023 DLD ticket).

 

This would be a great time to open a new Dark Lord Day thread so everybody could lose their shit and spread rumors!

 

My recollection was DLD fest tickets were pretty easy to get last time they did it so I don't think a presale is necessary unless they are significantly cutting the numbers. My guess is demand has tailed off so much for the drive through bottle fest that this is a desperate attempt to increase bottle sales this year.,

It is never re-opening. The distillery will at some point.
