HF better then ff but not by a big amount. Ff better then treehouse but not by a lot. If you add those two not big differences you get a medium difference. So for example 2+2=4. 2 not big but 4 twice as big.

What pilsners and/or lagers from TH have been really good recently? Looking to load up on some of those. I have never had Trail, Nomad, Quaint, etc.

I haven’t dug into mine yet, but a buddy that I passed a couple of cans off to, really enjoyed Nomad Oak.

I thought 10 was fantastic. Got a mixed box of about 8 different cans a couple weeks ago and that was probably my favorite of the bunch

Edit: definitely don’t miss wanderer, trail Amarillo is probably decent, though I don’t know if I had Amarillo exclusively. I mentioned earlier, I’m not into dark lagers but I thought nomad oak was solid, definitely a little oak present. Tasman bay isn’t for me, not into Nelson hops.

their tap list is solid, you could try a few before purchasing

Trailbreaker, Free to Roam, Surfcaster, Idle Mind and Outlier are all good imo

Interesting to see very hazy at 2pp, it’s always surprised me that very green has been at 2pp while vh and kj have typically been at 1pp

Thanks for the recs. Went with Nomad Oak, Outlier, and Pizzeria Pils. Plus of course some IPAs and dark beers.

I picked up some Trail Simcoe when I was there that I really liked. I preferred it over the Pizzeria Pils and the Wandering Calista.

I went a couple Saturdays ago. Of all the lagers I tried, house lager was my favorite. So good. I was in the 'stick with the core beers' camp, sick of the 200 different ipas and gimmicky additions to beer...but man -- both greensicle and king smooth really blew me away, completely changed my outlook. Those beers are excitingly superb. So tasty and well balanced. God I loved them. Also, green tasting as good as ever imo.

I had a similar reaction to haze + peach (whatever it’s called), it changed my perspective, and then I had Yellow (green + pineapple), and enjoyed it even more. I still don’t regularly pick them up, but once in a while I’ll grab a 2 pack.

They do a great job with the fruit additives. Usually pretty balanced and still have an IPA flavor. I went into them expecting a kettle sour, but was pleasantly surprised. The only adjunct I’m not crazy about so far is Guava

King Smooth is on another level. TH ispretty much the only brewery I trust for fruited IPAs and this is the best one they have

It feels crazy to say, but I think King Creamsicle might be my favorite TH DIPA, possibly taking out Juice Machine and VGGG, which I both think are perfect. It just tastes like better King Julius to me, the vanilla is at that absolutely perfect level where you know something else is in there but not so much that it makes it over the top or one note.

As far as the juicy vs bitter comparison, I think TH is significantly better than anyone else at the former category. I’d put the Alchemist number 1 if talking more balance. Fox Farm is great, but more hit or miss than either imo.

Just my opinion of course, but vanilla in IPA's should be outlawed. Worst idea to hit the beer industry since the 16.9oz. bottle....

Thank you. I've said this myself to many people. Vanilla doesn't belong in IPAs.

I understand the resistance, but I would like an honest answer if either of you have ever tried Creamsicle or King Creamsicle?

It was way better than I imagined. I actually only bought it to give to a friend but decided to keep one can for myself out if curiosity

The adjunct ipas must be moving well, the tap list selection has grown quite a bit. I’ve never had one on tap, I typically stick to classics and stouts, and leave the ipas for home.
