Been taking a break recently so I'm not sure if its been posted but Stony Point Brewing has debuted at the recently opened Bricktown Bierhouse taproom in West Haverstraw. It's down the hill and across the 9W intersection from Industrial Art's original location. Sounds like they'll be participating in a lot of regional festivals in the Lower/Mid Hudson Valley so that's another opportunity to try them out. I've been hearing good things about their Black IPA.

    - Root & Branch opening today in Copiague.

    - Good progress on Speckled Hen in Ballston Spa — “soon” is the timeline there.

    - Think I forgot this one but the brewery in Port Chester (blanking on name, couldn’t find it with an IG search) opened recently.

    - Relative Risk on Seneca Lake set for a Sept. 12th opening.

    - Talea opened a second taproom in Cobble Hill. Looks as gorgeous as the first spot if not more so.

Hope to swing by R+B before long, think next weekend will bring me in that direction

Cobble Hill Talea is great - decent outdoor seating and a really nice vibe indoors. Family friendly, just like the Williamsburg spot

Revelry on Aurora St in Ithaca is open, if the Untappd checkins I see are accurate. I’m seeing an American IPA, a NEIPA, a red ale and a wheat.

Run & Hide brewing company? I knew they were opening a taproom soon, thought it was delayed but hopefully not anymore.

Five Dimes Brewery recently opened in Westwood, NJ - beautiful space including a nice rooftop to hang out and beers were decent enough.

Two Ladders Brewery just opened (soft open at least) in West Nyack, NY. Have not had a chance to check out, seems like a small space but can't complain with a brewery next to an Ice Cream stand!

That's the one! And yeah just looked at the Gram and I guess they got delayed again, was supposed to be opened a couple weeks ago I think. Thought I had read that anyhow.

    Some Cap Region movement:

    - While back I saw somebody was opening a brewery at Altamont Orchards, forgot about it, and now out of the blue Allied Brewing has opened. Seem to be themed around the military, like WWII-era specifically which is already War Horse’s bent but whatever. I’ll check ‘em out in the next week or two, taplist looks solid and varied.

    - So this was out of nowhere but The Van Duck in Schenectady, and subsequently Mad Jack Brewing have closed. Bummer, always really liked MJ’s beers, BUT a new Italian place and brewery is apparently sliding right in and opening relatively soon. More when I see it.

    - Dancing Grain and Speckled Pig still look on track to open probably next month, maybe September.

Hot Plate Brewing in Pittsfield, MA started construction on their space downtown. Not much more information than that, but they're showing up at beer fests / events around town, I hope to try them at some point soon.

Was out in Buffalo for the last few days and checked out some of the new spots out there:

    - Steel Leaf in Williamsville is a HUUUGE space in what apparently used to be a Dave & Busters. Tons and tons of tables, five lanes of bowling, indoor cornhole/kan jam/giant beer pong. Had a DDH cream ale and a NEIPA that were both really good, I’d go back.

    - BriarBrothers just East of downtown is AWESOME. Gorgeous space in what used to be some old mill or industrial storage, indoor/outdoor seating, TVs, games, and most importantly fucking killer beer. Had a brown ale, farmhouse, session IPA and a NE pale and they were all solid 9s. Super friendly staff too — though if you spend time in Buffalo that won’t surprise.

These guys will be one of Buffalo’s best in no time. So impressed.

Syracuse, after years of lagging far behind Buff/Roc/Albany had really started kicking into gear with Buried Acorn, Underground Beer Lab and Riseform and now you can add a real big name to that list.

Singlecut is opening a barn/farm taproom in Manlius in September.

Killer news for the 315 and the kind of thing that could be a real bellwether in the way Other Half FLX was for that area.

Singlecut flies under the radar it seems on BA but I really enjoy a lot of their stuff. Jackknifed Juggernaut is among my favorite IPAs (period).

I think they hurt themselves for a while because their pricing for cans was way out of whack, but they’ve fixed that and they put out consistently terrific shit so they for sure deserve more love.

Also as an addition to the Cuse post I forgot Brewery Novalis is slated to open this year and Meiers Creek has that harborfront location so that’s gonna be a real nice slate of breweries out there.

I'm quite excited for the SYR beer-scene. That Manlius location is not far at all from my buddy's house, and he's only a couple miles from UBL. He just hooked me up with some recent releases from them and they were fire.

Looks like Mystic Ways is having their Grand Opening today. Their initial taplist is fairly diverse:
