You're gonna get ripped to shreds for that one man! Haha, all jokes, but tbh King Smooth is my second favorite to King Julius. It really just adds something that KJ doesn't necessarily "need" but it's great nonetheless. My point being, it's totally valid to put these newer fruited IPAs they're doing up there with the rest, they've been doing really well

I've tried King Creamsicle but couldn't even drink half of the can. I wouldn't say it was gross, but I don't drink things I don't like. Seems to make sense to me.

Gonna roll thru Deerfield tomorrow. Anything that I shouldn't miss (outside of the OG faithfuls)?

Eureka citra, trail citra, I’d consider lights on og, but also recommended

Yes I have. No knock on people who like it but I am just not a fan. My friend who was with me at the time was not a fan either. Plenty of other people clearly dig it as they keep trying it in a lot of their stuff. All the more for you guys that enjoy it!

I get it. I don’t like any of their pale ales, yet most people seem to love them

    ok, dumb question, whatever

I am finally making the trip to TH on Saturday to pick up everything I've ever wanted to try. I am going solo and it's a bit of a drive for me. I generally don't like driving after I've had a drink - what is everyone's take on drinking the draught? materially different experience than the fresh canned stuff?

I don't imagine I will be back for a while, but would prefer not to sit twiddling my thumbs after having a beer if it's the same deal as out of the can the minute I get home

I didn't notice a big difference in the JJulius I had. That said the 19oz glass you got to take with the draft was/is great. Nice tulip shape but actually fits the whole pour unlike any tekus I have or even the Belgians. Only my pilsner glass or Belcher 19oz does that effectively that I've ever had.

There are things you can try on draft that you can't get in cans, but I don't think TH is markedly different cans vs draught.

thanks! will look into the stuff I can't try in cans and make a decision based on that.

Yeah I mean double check they still are handing them out but assuming they still do the glassware thing it is a no brainer. Heck I had a friend grab a second one for me when they went up. You can see it here with an empty pint can. I'm not saying it's a huge breakthrough in glassware but honestly I'm tired of 14oz glassware.

I didn’t know they still did this, but if they are you definitely should. It’s my favorite glass I’ve ever owned.

I was told a few weeks ago that it’s a new glass, I’m not positive though. It should also be mentioned, it’s an extra 10$ for the glass + pour:

I don't think they'll ever stop offering that glass, I would imagine they'll have different ones to choose from in the future.

Personally, I enjoy their beer a little more on draft. It has an almost nitro-like feel. Also, to the points above, I usually try one of the special offerings that you can't get in cans, like Green w/pineapple. They used to do a lot more of those special stouts on draft, but maybe due to summer, they've cut back. I remember having All that is and all that ever will be w/marshmallow, and Double Shot w/strawberry and thinking they were two of the best stouts I'd ever had.

If you're worried about a long drive after having a beer there I'd recommend just hanging out for a bit, grabbing some food from the food truck and then maybe getting a 4-pack of their cold brew for the drive home.

I typically grab a seltzer either between drinks, or after, while having some food from the food trucks.

highly recommend the say cheese truck, the figgin goat with bacon is outstanding.

I left my original 19-oz glass from late last year/early this year out in the weather and got a new one just over a week ago. It looked like the exact same glass to me, but could have been slightly different I suppose.
