Hop Butcher (2022)

I seen these guys with Wisconsin plates the other day. They had a bunch of Deep Woods and fresh HB stacked up in their car...

 

The "This is the kind of beer I show to aliens when they ask me what modern APA tastes like" and "Beer hates Astronauts" pun is there, but I can't find it.

 

Anybody grab their collab with Revolution? Grabbed Shapes and Maintains and it was pretty solid hoppy pils.

I try and grab their stuff every 3/4 weeks (pro tip: sign up for their newsletter to see what their releasing every week). Not sure if they're upping production or maybe the hype train is slowing down but I've been able to find their stuff pretty readily at my local Binny's lately. Used to be sold out (ala Zombie Dust back in the day) if you don't get there within a few hours of it being delivered.

 

That just looks wrong not being half acre. I hope Dan Jetsah had some artistic input on the decoration of the space.

 

The sign is great and all, but damnit, when will they be opening?!?

 

I can't imagine they'd put up a sign if they weren't close to opening... Hopefully their opening taplist is bangin'!

That place was a top ten beer place while they were open. Shame they closed it.

We’ve seen some Hop Butcher cans show up in the OC/LA area the last 2 years. And usually in certain shops. Their collab with Half Acre, IPA Your Way showed up in one of my places. Does anyone know when these were canned? Two of my favorites from Chicago and it’s surrounding areas.

 

There was a recent re-release of this collaboration about a week or so ago so hopefully these are the cans there. Cans are date stamped on the bottom so double check to confirm.

 

Thank you. I always check the dates. I took a chance on Societes 10th anniversary TIPA last week. It was already 2 months out and was able to buy one can. That’s all I needed. I’m sure it was delicious when it was fresh.

 

Stoked with the return of HB Hazy Pale Ale. Those old hazy pales were some of my favorites. This coming week they're releasing one that's an all-Idaho 7 brew.

 

Lol, while that's true. HB does brew up some pretty good stouts from time to time.
