    Refer to the first post in this thread;Its regarding this exact vintage

    I have tried the 2020 Anvil and Stave version twice and it's one if the best ever.
    This 2022 version is a slap in the face. Complete garbage.
    Nowhere near the 2020 version. I knew something was up with the wider distro and cheaper price than the 2020.
    Fuck the 2022 vintage. It's trash. And this is coming from me.

    @BigIronH sent me a nice can of Opperman's Homebrew/ Bottleshop store BA Oatmeal Stout from Middlecoast Brewery outta Michigan
    I am never disappointed when trying new stuff from brrweries i have never heard of. Hitting the spot after a long day and fuckin up a buncha meat

    This looks to be just short of 2 years since canning. It pours a viscous black, minimalist tan head that lasts all of 30 seconds, no lacing but it leaves a nice oily film on the glass. Chocolate, vanilla, toffee are being filtered thru an array of nose hairs, ()but they get thru. I didn't mention coffee and some dark fruit that get to the taste buds....I will go on the record by saying this might just be the 2nd best BARIS I've had. Destihl makes a Rye version of this and in IMHO, it's slightly better. [​IMG]

    For anyone curious this is a special oatmeal stout brewed for Oppermans which was aged in their store pick bourbon barrels. Oppermans does more store picks than anyone in the state and typically has about a dozen store pick bourbons and whiskeys on the shelf at any given time, sometimes more. Cheers.

    A thick oily Pours witha a small tan head that gone in a few seconds, no lacing, but it does leave an oily film. Snot factory says, chocolate, vanilla and booze. Taste buds get that, some dark fruit shows up in the flavor. This is just an awesome brew all the way around. This is finishes a bit to sweet.

    Hotel beer. Local beer shop still had a sixer of Storm King from the limited release batch last Fall. Still a damn shame this beer went from Year Round > Seasonal > Every few year special release
