I really enjoyed my $8 pours and I’m glad crowlers were an option, but $60 is too steep for one sitting for me. Probably would have paid $30 for just 16oz of 6150 though.

There are some people who selected to only opt in for transactional e-mails and not marketing e-mails, and therefore we're not allowed to send an e-mail like the crowler one to you. We're looking into any other reasons that may have caused the crowler e-mail to not have reached everyone but that seems like the primary one so far. The team will get it all ironed out.

I hear you on the price of crowlers too. Keeping the $25 & $30 4-packs consistent in price this year with all the inflation going on, plus the discounts of the season pass, requires some premiums to come from other places (ie, crowlers). We're working on better solutions for one-offs down the road, and any other hiccups that have been pointed on. More to come...

I don’t think anyone is complaining too much, at least here. Every beer doesn’t have to be for everyone. It’s a premium ingredient, low output beer. I think it deserves the price it’s at.

Any insight on how one might undo this horrible mistake?

That's what they're looking into. Perhaps a shopify setting where it shows each store you've boughten from and your e-mail preferences for each? I'm not sure...

Finally stopping in to pick up my packs. I wasn’t quick enough to get Thundertaker at release (stupidly went back because I forgot to enter my rewards number which I find out today didn’t matter because they use your email/phone as well). But luckily got a pack from Binny’s (technically a buddy did for me because I was in the Smoky Mountains last weekend getting hunted by bears).

But anyway, I went straight for a snifter of it because it was one of my favorite DW releases to date. Rye spice seems more prominent than last year which is awesome, but it isn’t quite as fudgy as I remember. Still just a fantastic brew and glad I got a pack. Also can’t believe the other Sanctuaries are still available. Thoroughly enjoying Thundersauce now, not sure I’ll get to the others though as Coconut is next.

TLDR: Revolution makes it way too hard for anyone to ever complain about missing a release, they print currency. Also, bears. Be careful when you’re grilling in the mountains.

Right on. I consider myself very fortunate that I live close enough to enjoy this stuff easily on draft, but I appreciate that crowlers are even an option. I often take advantage of them when I travel elsewhere and will usually pay more than I otherwise would for the convenience.

Ten Year Beer is on draft at Hopleaf, Chicago folks. Pleasant surprise.

The draft list is overall BONKERS right now; the De Garre Tripel is fucking divine.

I popped in for one and now I may call off work tomorrow.

The clear answer here (to $60, 32oz crowlers) is to offer 12 ounce crowlers.

I understand there are major aluminum supply chain issues preventing this, but I always felt that Ball should make a few different heights with the same 32oz diameter. With an insert at the bottom breweries could use the same crowler machines and lids but offer 20 or 16oz sizes if they wanted.

    July 29, 2022

    New 16 Ounce Crowler Format

After many years of clamoring (and to be frank, lots of bitching) on BeerAdvocate forums, Untappd check-ins, and bottle share lines, we're pleased to announce half height 32 ounce crowlers now in a more palatable 16 ounce format. We realize 32 ounces may be a bit much liquid for some and know that we need to be dynamic in these unprecedented times. The new format will be called The Chode for all those wussies who can't solo dome 32oz of 18% beer. We hope this new format will satiate those who are not as manly as GuyFawkes.

Although the volume wasn’t my main concern I feel personally attacked lol

I have solo’d Rev’s and others in the past (I used to bring home Modern Times frequently after trips to Portland for work). I even remember a very wonderful evening with Destroyed by the Empire!

And I'm over here trying to find a good day to open my 32oz crowler of Outside Now pilsner, as the impact of beer on my body seems to be profound :stuck_out_tongue:

Filling crowlers is a nightmare and wastes a lot of precious beer in doing so. Smaller "crowlers" exacerbate those issues. The larger the crowler, the more efficient a very inefficient process becomes. In an ideal world, a variant would get canned in a 19.2oz can or something for a great seal and not needing to take 5 minutes to make a single one from start to finish. The challenge with using the canning line is that is that you need a lot of barrels (10?) to push a beer through our canning lining and not be incredibly wasteful, so a single barrel Sanctuary beer couldn't get canned cause there's just not enough beer. For now, this is why the 32oz are what they are...
