Is this blasphemy? A stout-only haul from Tree House?

Pay no attention to those non-alcoholic seltzers. Per GAAP, non-alcoholic beverages fall outside the stout vs. non-stout categorization standards.

Oh, also this. Definitely not a non-stout:

their whole new appearance seems to have lightened their blow a bit; meaning, their stouts don't seem as awesome as they used to. Why they did this i don't know, but it sucks honestly.

BA or non? if not the latter the Hell no. Shit, i thought a single can of mocha Wednesday at 20x was redonkulous though expected. this is beyond absurd.

Pirate Weekend from Prairie. Incredible stout. Coming in at 14.4%, this is a beast. I will definitely buy another. Rivals all the highest rated out there.

Been a while since I posted an Imperial Stout on here. Was in Ohio the past week and drank only lighter beers. But Im back with a vengence with Barreled Souls Waffle Haus Imperial Stout. This 11.5% beer has added chocolate, hazelnut, and waffles.

    onto my review:
Pouring a cellar temp bottle into my snifter. The beer was bottled on 4/22/2021 and has been in my cellar since I picked it up at the brewery in October of 2021.
The beer pours a dark black coffee color with a fluffy tan head of 3.5 cm foaming up. I cant get the whole bottle in the glass on the first pour. This head fades fairly quickly to a sturdy edge layer while I take the photo.
The aroma is a big hit of hazelnut and a little caramel and chocolate. RIch fudge dominates with just a little booziness coming through. NO hop profile on the aroma.
The first sip reveals a soft texture and very fine carbonation. Body is medium and the beer has a bit of a rich coating on my palate.
Flavor doesnt have the hazelnut that the nose kicks off and is mostly fudge and dark chocolate. The finish allows a little roasted malt notes as well. Some sweetness here, but not a lot.
I really like the nose as the best feature of this beer. The rest is fine, but the nose steals the show here.
not a bad imperial stout , but not the top tier that I have had from Barreled Souls.

Im dropping another brew on this thread. This one comes courtesy of @FBarber as part of the English Premier League BIF winnings. Thank you! This is Revolution Brewing Vanilla Deth a 13.6% barrel aged stout. Eyed this one up for a bit since the box arrived and now is the time!

Sampling a 12 oz can at cellar temp poured into my snifter. Can date stamp is filled November 03, 2021.
The beer pours a dark black coffee color with a fluffy beige head of about 1 cm. This foam fades to a sturdy edge layer and one large wispy island.
The aroma is some dark chocolate and a bit of fudge, with some bourbon notes and a bit of general booze too. Im not getting a lot of vanilla here. No hint of hops either.
First sip reveals a medium body with very fine and spacious carbonation. Generally very smooth beer.
Flavor is similar to the nose with some dark chocolate, a bit of roasted note and some bourbon. I get just hints of vanilla sweetness in the background, before the dark fudge note takes over. No hops anywhere. I do get some boozy warmth on the swallow.
This is a nice barrel aged stout. abv isnt really hidden and I was hoping for a little more vanilla presence, but this is still a solid beer that I enjoy. Glad to have tried it.

I drink a lot of stouts, and almost all of them are barrel aged. I know Goose Island gets some hate for being owned by AB, but for my money, they make arguably the best barrel aged stouts in the beer world. It’s for sure the best one you can buy on the shelves. This is very good, from maybe the best brewery in the country, and yet it’s not even close to BCBS. My opinion of course
