They're working on it -- I just bought two 12-packs of cans.

FWIW -- I've heard of folks in Cook County getting cans all the time, and I saw them in McHenry -- I think it's just my local distro who's the bottleneck (no pun).

Pretty sure Trumer announced cans a couple years ago, they just haven't been terribly prominent in my area -- then again, Trumer itself has been pretty hit-or-miss around here for the past few years. I grab it when I can get it -- no matter what packaging.

Wasn't @steveh saying they wouldn't give him a deal on the bottles? Or did I read his post wrong?

I bought a six pack of Trumer in cans during a trip to LA in 2019. I think it was their first year canning. Given the pandemic, I don't think it's too surprising that the expansion of that packaging format has been slow.

If I rack my memory, it was probably around that time when I first saw cans, too.

Not in my immediate area, of course.:wink:

I was buying beer for a shop when trumer debuted 6pk cans. That was April of 2017. The cans were significantly more expensive than the bottles. I’d sell a case of cans for $40, (equivalent to what a case of anti hero sold for) the bottles would be 20-40% less depending on the deal the distributor was offering that month.

i also remember Trumer decided to debut the cans in 6pk format. Probably should have just gone straight to 12pks. The 6pks got long in the tooth frequently and I think I remember the distributor actually stopped carrying the cans for a time

And now it's the other way around (at least at Binny's), what's that about? I don't think I know any other brewery, that offers both, who prices one container higher than another.

And then Binny's (or the distro?) plunks both 12-packs next to each other on the shelf. $10? $13? Hmm...
Was this in Lake County (IL)?

Let me tell you something as a parent of young audience. A gallon of vodka is $25 at Costco. A gallon jug of fruit punch is $3, you'll need about 8. These 50 dollars take you way farther than any beer ever could, and, I quote, "it's not bitter".

First, we really underestimate the younger generation. This is so entirely logical. Yesterday’s wine cooler is today’s seltzer is this week’s vodka + whatever till dawn.

But Trumer: I finally got some and holy smokes, it’s good. Especially at that price. I balked previously due to age + green (or so I’ve heard) bottles. But that recent Binny’s can sale had me take the plunge. In terms of marketing and format and whatnot. I mean, it’s a (quality) pils in an IPA world. It’s gonna be uphill no matter what. I’ll do my part and buy more, though.

Trumer pretty much distributes only in 12-packs (that I've seen around here), and the green bottles are completely covered, so don't be afraid if you don't see the cans.

Doesn't really relate as you're comparing 4 of 16 vs 6 of 12 but I've actually seen six packs of 12 ouncers priced exactly the same as six packs of 16 ouncers...Bud maybe..

To me is more about the serving size and value i agree.I would much prefer a 12oz serving than a pounder.
