Any of the SAC beer week events worth checking out? I gave a look over but nothing stood out enough for the drive/train ride up.

The tap room is not closing, only the restaurant:

While food will no longer be served, Track 7’s East Sacramento Taproom will remain open, according to a marketing spokeswoman. The local brewery is working on bringing food vendors to the pub space in the future for people to eat as well as drink.

Can Release for the beer (PTG Blonde Ale) I helped with was a damn good time on Saturday at Oak Park Brewing. They even had a band for the outdoor event.

New Brewery in Rocklin (just East of Sacramento). I-80 and Sierra College. By In N Out and Bass ProShop. Grand opening this weekend. Some ties to past jobs in the local Sac Brewing scene and Final Gravity.

    Mindscape Fermentations
    https://mindscape-fermentations.com/

Just a few beers for the start up. West Coast IPA, Pale, Mexican Lager, Hard Kombucha and hard seltzer. They have some limited food as well.

Just a quick update on the new Brewery in Rocklin (East of Sac) that I mentioned above that just opened. Mindscape Fermentations. Beer, Kombucha and Cider. Owner/Brewers formerly worked locally at Mraz and Cool Beer Works. Very chill taproom. Barstools at 2 counters also a few tables and even a couch.

Beers were EXCELLENT. Hazy DIPA collab with Flatland was great. Both the WC IPA and PA were on point. Mexican Lager Collab was also nailed. My wife liked all the different fruit hard kombucha she tried.

We even went back again last weekend.

Some local beer news. NEW GLORY is closing the tap room and Restraunt in Granite Bay.

It’s tough for us to type these words, but it is with great sadness that we announce the upcoming closure of New Glory Eatery & Taproom in the Quarry Pond Town Center at the end of this month. It has been an amazing adventure and true privilege for our family to be able to serve you for the last four years. To say that the last couple of years have been challenging for our industry is an understatement; but the current economic conditions are not all to blame for our decision. The good news is that we’re working with some amazing individuals who are looking to pick up where we’re leaving things off to create a new space for this amazing community to enjoy great food and amazing beers.
From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank our customers and community who supported us these last four years. We also would like to give a HUGE shout-out to our amazing staff, and thank them all for the dedication and devotion they have poured into our restaurant. We couldn’t have done it without them.
It was a fantastic run, and it goes without saying, we’ll miss the fun! We’d love to see your beautiful faces at least one more time at the Eatery, so join us one last time until the end of the month.
[IMG] Rest assured, this announcement does not change anything for New Glory Craft Brewery or our Sacramento taproom. The beer is still steadily flowing. So if you miss us, don’t be a stranger! Come visit us or grab a 4-pack of your favorite New Glory brew at a retailer near you. #supportlocalbeer

wow the parallels between Track 7's restaraunt/taphouse and New Glory's are virtually identical.

I did not know of this! Looking it up, the new location is in Roseville.....just a few miles away. Odd choice, doesn't help anyone like me located on the other side of Sac.

It is not that odd if you know the Population Demographics of the area.

WEST Roseville is a booming area for new houses. They are building homes and Shopping centers at a fast rate. They just got a brand new High School built. Big expansion. They just put in a Nugget supermarket, strip mall and a bunch of other buildings a few blocks away. There is a lot of beer/restaurant $$. It will be the only Taproom in the immediate area. There is food competition though. Also close to West Rocklin just over the 65 Freeway. They already have some built in brand recognition also.

But, in this economy, there is risk for sure.

Um, since when has Great Notion had a "fulfillment center" in Sac? I was browsing their website for information about their Seattle locations and found that there's a pickup location in North Sacramento with plans to open a taproom. Wondering if this was needed to allow shipping to CA addresses.
Has anyone been here to pick up cans? I assume all production is still in Oregon (& Washington?) for now.

It has been open in Natomas for several months for pickups. Pretty easy ordering on app. Easy pickup as well. They have a big selection weekly. But many, many stores and bottle shops now have Great Notion cans all over the Sacramento, Roseville and Rocklin area.

    https://www.instagram.com/greatnotioncali/

Yes, this was so they could get into the California market for Shipping and pickups.
Yes, Production still up north OR, WA.

No word where the Sacramento taproom will be in the future? Natomas or somewhere else local??

It has been a great source, the branding carries through the app and their mail order packaging. I would say the unboxing experience is inline to old school Bruery experiences. Some bay area stores have been getting some releases, but not all - been hit & miss.

Oh, that mobile app of theirs sucks. The UX/UI experience is horrible, the response times is worse. Forget getting a hot release, the app slows to a crawl and when it catches up they are sold out. You have 5 minutes to finish shopping and check out, otherwise items start dropping from your basket. single cans? nope, only 4 packs. Oh you want that stout? Sorry, you have not spent enough money with us to level up for the privilege to purchase that barrel aged stout from us.

But we can get their amazing tart ales/sours, so...

Thanks! Sorry for the slow response. I'm not on BA too often these days. Cap Tap will be releasing the west coast version for their anniversary this Saturday. With a slightly different, but equally awesome label
