I'm pumped! While I'd like to try all of them, I suspect we'll only get the first four in our market.
    • OG BCBS
    • Coffee
    • Biscotti (cocoa nibs, toasted almonds, anise, "natural" flavors)
    • Sir Isaac's (figs, graham crackers, "natural" flavors)
    • Proprietor's (coconut, banana, lime juice, pineapple, "natural" flavors)
    • 2-year Barleywine aged in Old Fitzgerald
    • 25th Anniversary (Basil Hayden, Booker's, Baker's, Knob Creek)

That propietors sounds horrible as well as anything with "natural " flavors. Eat shit.

25th Anniversary, OG and 2 Year Bwine are all ones i will probably buy

Biscotti had my attention until "anise". I've thrown out more black jelly beans than I can count, licorice is the worst.

Yeah, while I'm not a fan of anus, it is part of the traditional biscotti flavor, and I like biscotti. It's likely not prominent, so I'll try it.

...I just will wait for the price point for these beer...haven't given up on the BBC beers, but the hype seldom seems worth depositing my "hardly" earned coin on the more esoteric varietals...

Yeah, I've lost some of my enthusiasm for BCBS hunting. I've had lots of other great BBA beers that cost the same or less per ounce. I bought less last year, and still have most of it. I'll probably start with one of each, and go back for more if they're really good. Sure would be nice to see some Barleywine and 25th here, but doubting it.

...for me, local / regional options include River North and Epic Brewing (Big Bad Baptist series)...plus many other local / regional beers are just as, if not more so, enjoyable than BCB stouts...Goose Island still makes some tasty high octane beers, but smart buyers realize that there are other players in the game just as good and way more affordable than they are...

I’ve literally never had a variant that I thought was substantially better than the base, and I’ve tried a lot of them. Last year’s base is still a shelfie around here, which I’m happy to pick up once a month or so. Still think it sets a pretty high bar, along with Parabola. Some Prairies exceed both IMO, especially Bourbon Paradise.

I’m happy with regular BCBS because the variants are priced way to high IMO.

A bit surprised there hasn't already more excitement so far for the return of a Barleywine variant. Isn't it typically one of the most sought after and well regarded variants during years when they do brew it? And hadn't it been quite some time since they released one? I'm also looking forward to trying the coffee variant, assuming I see either.

I'm with you....BCBS and barleywine for me. Never cared for the adjuncted variants aside from their vanilla offerings.
