Also if the admins have the power to add a “2022” to my post title that would be clutch

    Correct!

You can always revisit Ayinger on draft if you see it!

No quite diving in to Ofests yet, in as much we're approaching another heat wave here in the northeast this weekend - quite can't get in the mood for my favorite style when it's 90+ degrees out. Looking forward to Magoun's annual selection of drafts, the best in Boston metro IMO. Nothing better than liters and NFL!

Only one I've had so far is East Rock, which is banging again this year. It may be the only one I buy this year. Oh, who am I kidding??

Was Notch’s Oktoberfest always $30 just to get in? I swear it might have been a lower cover and a free beer previously. Still have our steins

I nabbed this a few days ago at the City in Seabrook. Even in the warmer weather today it’s hitting the spot.

The one import that has still not shown up here...:frowning2:

I'm wondering whether we'll also get the new cans or just the bottles, hope to know within a week or so...

    Enjoy!

Haven't had any of the style yet for this year, and unfortunately I'll be in Chicago for this release, but I still hope to try it!

I’ve been drinking Oktoberfests AT the pool.

September is becoming warmer and warmer here in the Northeast. Oktoberfests will be consumed in hot weather. It was in the mid 70s and very warm when I went to the actual Oktoberfest in Munich. I was wearing shorts drinking a liter of wonderful Hofbrau outside (there’s beer gardens outside the tents too).

Once they’re in my fridge it is only a matter of time; they don’t stand much of a chance, regardless of weather.

So far this season, we have cracked into and enjoyed 36 different Oktoberfest (thus far!) in preparation for our blind tasting this year. For the lineup this season, are prospecting a bottle or two basically of all the examples that come in and noting the exceptional ones to put in a final blind bracket of 8-10 or so.

We should be wrapped up in another week or two, just waiting on just a few more to hit, such as Spaten which has not arrived this year.

This year, off the top of my head, the final bracket will consist of the following:

    Fat Head's G'Suffa
    Hofbrauhaus
    Thirsty Dog Barktoberfest
    Alesmith
    Wolf's Ridge Oktoberfest
    Paulaner (Marzen)
    Weihenstephaner (I think?)
    Ayinger
    Madtree

Give or take, at least right now.

But honestly, this year, the one that has been 'wowing' me each time (and we have bought a six pack or two of already) has been both Fat Head's and Thirsty Dog. I may give the edge to Thirsty Dog, though, at least non-blind  The Marzens are having a strong showing this year, where in past years I feel like Festbier has been the better/stronger examples.

My plan was not to buy Oktoberfest beers this year, but I couldn't pass on a four-pack of cold and fresh (brewed in June) Paulaner.

I picked up a 12 of Sam Adams this week for a bit of nostalgia. Haven't had it in probably 10 years; I'm looking forward to seeing how it/my palate has changed in that time. From there it will be whatever my local has (usually not a great selection in this more macro-drinking part of MA).

With the hot weather today, I've gone with an almost Oktoberfest, Jack's Abby's Munich export lager.

For whatever reason the NJ distributor never gets the festbier other than the liter can/glass combo. It’s very annoying; marzen already purchased though :beers:

Steven, Troegs had come out with a 'new' Oktoberfest beer (it was brewed previously as a scratch/special release beer). Does Troegs make it to Ohio? Did you get a chance to buy/drink this beer?

    Cheers!

I was surprised to find it at a supermarket today. For the last few years, I would go to NJ to get both in bottles, while here in Brooklyn I'd occasionally either see the combo (got one last year primarily just to get a Maß) or other versions randomly usually at the end of the season.

Yes, we do and did buy/try that one. It was good, but nothing standout amongst the others.
