Picked up some Paulaner in a Wegmans mix a six dated L2116 (which I'm guessing was bottled at some point in April of this year?).

Has anyone had the Troegs Octoberfest yet?

I am totally in agreement with a post above - Paulaner should do mixed 12 and/or 24 packs: with the 12 packs having 6 each of the marzen and weisn and the 24 packs with 12 each of the marzen and weisn. Would totally invest in that!

I have, my thoughts are here:

What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3590

Definitely worth a purchase but ended up not being my favorite of the two Oktoberfest beers I had last evening.

Paulaner usually has a pretty clear best-by date on the back label of their bottles (1 year from bottling date).

Not sure about the cans, maybe in the bottom?*

*Just checked my recent review of their Pils in the .5 liter can and there's a clear date somewhere.

Yep - the Paulaner cans have clear US-style dates on the bottom of the cans.
MM.DD.YYYY format for both the brew date and the best by date.

At least they did last year.

And I just double-checked my last bottle of Festbier -- very clear best-by date on the lower right of the back label -- if only a month and year.

And yeah, @keithmurray -- best by April 2023 on my batch.

My local distributor has the following in stock currently, with more in the pipeline. What is noticeable is that Paulaner is missing.
Edit: Sam Adams is also missing.

I checked another distributor re. Paulaner and also Tucher. Was told that they haven't gotten any Paulaner Oktoberfest beers in yet and that they would likely get Tucher in September.

The local Wegman's also didn't have any Paulaner.

Me too. I would like to see something like this.
If it's cans, then hopefully the 500ml cans.

Very odd that they have H-P, but no Paulaner -- both being from the same brewery and importer.

The 2 brands -- in all styles -- were the first imports I saw here in the Chicago area in late July.

I know. But here they seem to be handled separately for some reason. The place that last year sold the Paulaner Oktoberfestbier (the Festbier) didn't sell any HP Oktos. And that was the only place that I know of that sold the 500ml cans of Paulaner Festbier.

It's probably due in some par to our arcane laws here. That and whatever relationships the various distributors have with the importers, shippers, and master distributors.

This is the canning code for the 2022 tucher festbier it appears to be canned on 4/29/22. It came in cardboard packaging. last years cans were held together with white plastic rings. I picked up a four pack of tucher and weihenstephaner festbier cans. Also found this years hofbrauhaus freising festbier. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful finding this years ayinger. Every bottle I found of ayinger Oktoberfest had the code L1153 6/2/21. What bottle codes have you guys been seeing?

Agree with you on the likely date for the Tucher. For Ayinger, I have seen dates around L2033 or so. You are seeing L1153 at different stores even? Yeah that's not good.

    Okay, Festbier or Amber Märzen?

    Is it pale or reddish?

Oooo....I'll have to keep an eye out for that. I'll be stopping by the place where I found Hofbrauhaus Freising's Dunkel on Tuesday.

Have you tried it yet? How is it tasting?

Can't answer that one yet. Ayinger is coming in this week. I'll check the bottle code and let you know then.

This should have read, I picked up some Ayinger with the L2116 code, not Paulaner. Sorry for the confusion.

I have not had this years hofbrauhaus freising festbier yet. But this is my third year buying it and I always enjoy it i put it ahead of paulaner weisn and just above hofbrau Oktoberfestbier.

The last time I had it I found it more Dortmunder than Festbier. Maybe they've pushed the malt bill up some more?
