    it’s thick enough, just as much chocolate as coffee and barrel. ridiculously good for something that hits a pretty large distro footprint.

    I love to see a brewery achieve consistency with large batch sizes. It leaves hope for those of us that don’t have time to make it to a brewery in some random state for a pickup of a super exclusive beer. Queue the reason I’ve always loved Founders. Cheers.

    Now this is a stout! 2013 Mephistopheles Stout from Avery. A huge 15.4% ABV. "Brewed with water, malted barley, turbinado sugar, hops, and a hellion of Belgian yeast strain".

    Nose is incredible, with roasted malts, brown sugar, tobacco, coffee grounds, dark chocolate, and a good yeast signature. Black licorice is there. Taste is crazy - I'm getting lots of licorice and bitterness. Charred wood, coffee, tobaco. Lovely combo, and there is definitely some sweet dark fruit - blackberries and cherries. Quite malty. Age has done wonders with this one!

    This Is better than Cafe and supermassive cafe deth in my opinion.
    10 times better

    2020 Speedway beats all of them though

    supermassive cafe deth was pretty damn good but yeah this beats it. definitely beats regular cafe deth. can’t speak for 2020 speedway. i assume you’re talkin’ BA speedway?

    What'd ya think? Never had it but i am flabbergasted that this holds a top 15 in the top 250 here.

    Sent one to @BigIronH a while back

    I see them everytime i go to my store but from the 3 Bl stouts i have had, 2 BA and one Non BA, they are nothing special

    They are at the bottom of my list in my opinion, but i aint shit.
    They just represent the problem we have here. A dependence on sugary shit.

    Incredible stout. If you haven't had one, you are missing out. 2021 was a great year. 2022 wasn't as good.

    Moonraker Original Oil. Barrel aged imperial stout aged 1.5 years in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels. 13.0% ABV. Incredible beer.

    i love this one

    The thickness is unbelievable

    Their V2 version is also just as good.

    Dark Fruit and barrel bombs!

    I believe i added this one to the BA DB

    I completely wrote off BL forever after spending 100 dollars on drain pours from them.

    Cloying and overhyped IMO.

    Not bad but not top 15. They’re at the top end of my sweetness limit for sure but they definitely make some good stouts. I’ve had a few from them that I like better than this

    Some of them are over the top and cloying, but FO is their classic and not too sweet. To be honest, probably less sweet than the Moonraker.

    I was gonna add that the Moonrakers are borderline sweet.
    I've had scatter signal, study break, mint condition and forget what else from BL. All drain pours. Aunt lives about 10 min from the brewery so maybe next time i visit her I'll stop by. Never been to the brewery so i don't know what the taplist situation is like, but i know they aren't as hyped up as before and for good reason

    Idk this isn’t really doing it for me. I’ve had 2020 and remember liking it better. I think FO has been living off its hype from ~5 years ago. Ive also had 2018 BCBS vanilla last year the same week I had the 2020 FO and thought it was better

    Yeah, I definitely think the hype pulled it along. I actually thought that the 2021 FO was better than the couple of years before it, and better than 2022. Seemed like an extra good year.
